IIIJG11 Reaper Posted January 13, 2009 Posted January 13, 2009 First let me say i luv this sim enough that the missus is ready for divorce.! :music_whistling: I and I others have waited what seems a life time for a good Heli Sim, and i know others are waiting for the addition of jets to the game, will this in turn stop development/improvment in the Heli side of the game in its future direction ?, currently its all about the Heli and in the near future I can see it getting pushed to the back for the Jet jockeys,,(no offence).:pilotfly:. What are people thoughts, and or ,what the Devs see as happening.

What are people thoughts, and or ,what the Devs see as happening. :joystick: As for myself, I wasn't looking for a new simulator, but I got to say the Russian's are hands down in providing the world a new revival of PC gaming! With this new simulator (game) KA-50. I just can't keep away from it. In the USA the big gaming giants have let slip the PC era and have been only mass producing fast violent FPS gaming and nothing really for the PC'ers. They are slowly losing the PC market to the USSR and I really don't care any more. I will happily pay the Russians game makers good money for good PC games and Sim's. 71st_Mastiff Posted January 13, 2009 Posted January 13, 2009 off topic Mastif, but why do you use the st290 with your x52throttle? I did not like the X52 joystick too long and to lose. It had no feel to it. it was as if it was a dead stick. I like the sturdy handling of a joystick. :smilewink: "any failure you meet, is never a defeat; merely a set up for a greater come back", W Forbes. aledmb Posted January 13, 2009 Posted January 13, 2009 man, you've got to stop! that's really confusing me... :lol:
Rhino4 Posted January 13, 2009 Posted January 13, 2009 UM...Not sure to feel bad for Mastiff or LMAO...You just can't win, buddy. :D Back OT: I don't know why you're worried Reaper. I've read a few other threads like this here and at the simHQ boards by heli pilots who are worried that once the fixed wings start coming out then "their" sim will stop being "shown the love". The answer is that all aircraft released for DCS will be shown the same amount of care and detailing regardless of whether they are fixed wing or rotary. ED plays no favorites (at least not to my knowledge). Remember that after the A-10C comes out, it will (90% certain on this) be followed 9 months later by an apache (the A model). This will probably be followed by a few more fixed wings, and later on down the road, they will release a Hind. Eventually the engine will get a face lift and you'll see (it's being speculated, no confirmation that I could find) collidable trees, improved optimization, better ground and air AI, new weather effects, along with a whole new list of bugs to find and patch up. :) What I'm trying to say is that it doesn't matter if you come for the rotaries or the fixed wings. You'll get the same amount of attention that every one else is getting. Rotaries are not better than fixed wings and vice-versa. Some people are worried about how Multiplayer will work once fixed wings come out and rotaries become the "helpless underdogs". They are forgetting that you don't have to include both types of aircraft in the same online mission. There will most likely be several rotary-only servers for L33T rotary fiends who wouldn't fly something that couldn't hover even if their wife threatened to leave them (as someone who plays both sides myself you should be grateful I used "fiend" instead of "snob" :D). There will be all types of servers. Some for just fixed wing, some that will probably be uber-realistic requiring teamwork and coordinated cover operations from both fixed wings and helis. Rotary nuts worrying about "their" sim being ruined by jet jockeys who won't play nice when they're on the opposing side is stupid and pointless IMO. This sim doesn't belong to helicopter enthusiasts and it doesn't belong to the jet junkies. It belongs to all of us. You should stop worrying about your own slice of the pie and start thinking about how to make it work for everyone. 1
IIIJG11 Reaper Posted January 14, 2009 Author Posted January 14, 2009 (edited) Ok Rhino4,, I dont really thnk at any point i claimed this as a heli sim only, and im not sure im worried to the point of suicide, but honestly m8, it was an area of opinion i wanted to get a feeling of,,thats all nothin more. As i have stated i will more than likely be divorced before the first jet comes out.:joystick: And just so your aware i have been a simmer for the last 10 years or more, with a prefference for IL2FB for the last 6 years or so in the same squad. So yes i take offence at being cited as shallow with my only concern being the Heli side. Av a good day...:thumbup: As a further note m8,,please re-read the original post before posting flames... Vetic Posted January 14, 2009 Posted January 14, 2009 Well I look forward to heli add ons, because that is my true love. The only reason my Missis aint going to leave me over my simming is becaus it is cheaper than the real thing. Also LOMAC Flamming cliffs has brought us awsome jet aviation and combat for several years and it is high time Helos had the spot light for a while. I too have been simming for 10 years and preffer IL2 1946 for my prop drivin avation.
IIIJG11 Reaper Posted January 14, 2009 Author Posted January 14, 2009 Hearing that Vetic,, My only defence is i could be up the pub 3 nights a week instead!!! :}

msalama Posted January 14, 2009 Posted January 14, 2009 ...and preffer IL2 1946 for my prop drivin avation. I used to play IL-2 a lot as well, but frankly speaking got eventually fed up with its lack of systems modelling - and to an extent with the whiny a$$hat armchair experts claiming to know Oleg's business as regards FMs, etc. better than he does, too. I thus promptly uninstalled it, and after getting the Shark haven't really looked back for a second... Are there any in-depth WWII study flight sims in the works anywhere at the moment, BTW? The DCS Mi-8MTV2. The best aviational BBW experience you could ever dream of.

Perspective is promising - ED probably will fill a leak of PC Simulators products.:thumbup: Reminder: Fighter pilots make movies. Bomber pilots make...
