VR "enable HMD Mask" tick option not working properly

When unticking the "enable HMD Mask" option it only works for the current play session in-game.

If you exit DCS and restart, the game starts with the HMD mask enabled every time (even if the option is still unticked). You have to go in-flight into the VR options each time, now the HMD mask disappears (by opening the VR options).

Could you please check if this is working as intended?

I second that - it is definitely not working as we think it should, whether *that* is intended... 😛

sry but WHAT IS this HMD mask? I'm currently troubleshooting something and this hit my eyes...

Its how much of the field of view has anti aliasing. Lower values will only have anti aliasing near the center point of view. All the way up, AA wil cover the entire fov, just like in 2d mode. The idea being since you have to move your head around for the clearest view, not just you eyes, there’s not really a reason to have the improved smoothness in your peripheral vision… obviously highly dependent on your headset, system processing power, and personal preference.  I leave it all the way up on my lowly quest2 and don’t really notice any difference changing it. On a better headset like a G2 or Varjo Aero you could probably tell.

The Msaa mask is not the same as the HMD mask…

The hmd mask is a mask that stops rendering things outside of the visible scope of the physical mask
