bigern311 Posted November 14, 2022 Posted November 14, 2022 Hello! I am relatively new to learning to implement an aircraft as a weapons platform so please bear with me. I am having an issue in being able to cage or lock on to a target in the F-16. I have the Master Arm on and am in air-to-air mode and can slew the cursor around to follow the target on the MFD but cannot lock on to that target to save my life! Help me please!!!
Tholozor Posted November 14, 2022 Posted November 14, 2022 We need more info. How far away? What kind of target? What was it's aspect (hot, cold, flanking)? skywalker22 Posted November 15, 2022 Posted November 15, 2022 I would suggest you to read the Chuck's manual and watch numerous YT videos. Else you can ask question by question here.
darkman222 Posted November 15, 2022 Posted November 15, 2022 (edited) Be sure to learn the basics of the radar like @skywalker22 said. Learn about what the symbols mean you are seeing. And which ones you can actually lock on. A common mistake is seeing a radar contact that comes from data link. But you cant lock it because its too far away, because your own radar cant see it (yet). Or you are scanning the wrong altitude, and thats the reason you cant lock. Or the bandit is jamming your radar. The reasons why thats happening to you in combination are countless.
