Kang Posted November 22, 2022 Posted November 22, 2022 Your mileage depends slightly (read: quite a lot) on the exact type of ship you want to destroy. The Tarantul class corvettes are fragile enough to be done with a single Harpoon, a heavy-warhead Maverick or a 1000lbs bomb hitting it well.

Tholozor Posted November 23, 2022 Posted November 23, 2022 Walleyes are another fantastic anti-ship weapon, especially if mobile and you need fire-and-forget. 2 REAPER 51 | Tholozor VFA-136 (c.2007): https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3305981/ Arleigh Burke Destroyer Pack (2020): https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3313752/
Annapolis81 Posted November 24, 2022 Posted November 24, 2022 My biggest problem with sinking the opposition with any FA-18C weapon system-- getting past their currently very effective anti-air defenses. Good luck. Intel Core i9 14900KF (OC to 5.6), 64GB DDR5 (5600 MHz), NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090, 4.0 TB M.2 2280 SSD (PCIe Gen4 x4 NVMe (up to 64 Gbps)), HP Reverb 2, and PIMAX Crystal Light.
MARLAN_ Posted November 24, 2022 Posted November 24, 2022 Harpoons worked well for me recently, pop-up mode does well vs. point defense. The damage model is still bad so you'll need a lot of them, but that goes for any similarly sized weapon currently. Putting a 2,000 lb LGB on them works well if you are able to fly overhead. AGM-65F can work very well too. Virtual CVW-8 - The mission of Virtual Carrier Air Wing EIGHT is to provide its members with an organization committed to presenting an authentic representation of U.S. Navy Carrier Air Wing operations in training and combat environments based on the real world experience of its real fighter pilots, air intercept controllers, airbosses, and many others.
norman99 Posted November 25, 2022 Posted November 25, 2022 SLAM/ER is also perfect. The man-in-the-loop final targeting control can be beneficial in a dense shipping environment, to ensure the correct target is hit. That’s something that can’t be done with a Harpoon. 1
