Recommended Posts

Hi. I have 12900K stock

32 GB 2x16 GB DDR4 3600mhz

Palit Gamerock Pro OC rtx 4090

1300W Seasonic Platinum Prime

Aorus Elite DDR4 Z690

Windows 11 2H22. Updated new nvidia drivers.

I swapped from 3090 Ti Gigabyte Gaming to Rtx 4090 Palit Gamerock. Never had single crash in games, apps on 3090 ti. All was perfectly stable.

I am gettin occassional crashing during loading games. Watch Dogs Legion ( happened 2 times ) and Metro Exodus EE. Never in game, but in loading . Happen from time to time. Is my card fine? I have PalitGamerock 4090 stock.

Here are always that 2 errors during crash:
2 errors.

1.display driver nvlddmkm stopped responding and has successfully recovered

2.The description for Event ID 0 from source nvlddmkm cannot be found. Either the component that raises this event is not installed on your local computer or the installation is corrupted. You can install or repair the component on the local computer.

If the event originated on another computer, the display information had to be saved with the event.

The following information was included with the event:

\Device\Video3
Error occurred on GPUID: 100

It happened on 3 versions of drivers i tried.

ps:
card passing all stress testing games and benchs.

Run Cinebench while running GPU Test to stress both at the same time.

Seems like a hardware issue toggling clocks from 2D Idle to 3D

if that was hardware issue it will happen most everytime, not one of 50 tries. It can happen when i am not loading game few hours and sitting on desktop. And on first launch after few hours i launch Watch Dogs LEGION or Metro  and it can crash driver, on loading

I've repaired systems that have had GPUs with Bad firmware or VRM that do everything you're experiencing, hardware that's defective does not cause problems most of the time, when it's still new silicon or capacitors, it will fail once every 50-100+ cycles, as it ages and/or degrades it will start to fail more often.

The Possible problems are:
-Driver (Missing or Corrupt Drivers)(Also it does say in the event viewer something is missing)
-Hardware Defective VRM or FIRMWARE. (if the VRM has a Bad phase, it will crash the GPU and cause windows to recover the driver).
-Power Supply (12VHPWR RAIL Switching/Output Voltage Variances).
-Bad HDMI/DP Cable (Switching display modes can crash drivers if the Cable is bad and doesnt hand shake properly with the GPU)

so rma but what if they dont reproduce issue ? ( cause it happens so rarely )

what something is very wrong? it can happen only with loading 2 games ( watch dogs L and Metro Exodus EE ). In other games loading is fine and never crash.

maybe ask on their forums then?

didn't you have another thread where you're PC was randomly shutting off?

P...S...U....

I take it back, you've been posting nothing BUT system problems with other games and software for years,

Not 1 DCS Related post.

Why don't you ask your questions regarding other titles not on their own forum may I ask ?

1st Thing to try: go into you Nvidia Control Center and set the Energy Management to "Max Performance". If this helps, you may suffering from a Incompatibility between your Motherboard and your 4090. Try the latest BIOS for your Motherboard. If not: I don't know. But I have seen you posted this Message on quite a few Forums (EVGA, Guru3D,...) someone will come up with an idea.

/edit: another thing you could try: go into the windows power plan advanced section search for the PCIe Link Power State and set it to "off". I've seen one guy that had luck with this setting.

/edit2: on another forum some users had luck by using driver version 526.86 instead of 526.89

I'm starting to think this is either a user or a bot, and he's copy/pasting problems from another forum here,

If it's not DCS Related, then you're in the wrong place.
