So should I delete the F-4E?

Not necessarily delete, you can just disable it, assuming that you are using a Mod Manager. You can also disable it manually, by renaming its entry.lua file to entry.bak … or disable it on the Module Manager (Unless you are using Steam’s DCS).

I'll turn off the F-4E in the DCS World Menu and see what happens. Also, do you know what the best resolution for DCS World. I own a 42 inch ASUS 4K Monitor. It's beautiful, but it wasnt cheap!!

Thank you,

In my opinion, it is best to use the native resolution of the monitor … unless your  GPU isnt powerful enough, in which case you could try a lower resolution at the expense of reduced image quality.

Hi Rudel. I turned off the VSN F-4E, but sadly the F-4B & C doesn't work??? I have an ASUS GeForce, RTX 3090Ti gaming video card.

When you are typing a post on the forum, you can drag any file of your PC onto the post and it will be attached.

The dcs.log file is at /Saved games/DCS or DCS.openbeta/Logs/

🙂 ... ok, I took a look into your dcs.log amd I can see that you have disabled the F-4E:

"2023-08-24 18:30:50.066 INFO    Scripting (Main): plugin: SKIPPED 'VSN_F4E': disabled by user"

However, there is no trace of the F-4B ...  if you had it properly installed, a line like this would be present on the log:

"2023-08-24 22:52:42.496 INFO    SOUND (Main): Added sound path: g:\Users\Eduardo\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Mods/aircraft/VSN_F4/Sounds"

So, re-check your install of the Mod, maybe you placed it on the wrong path .. I have mine on this folder:

k1l996L.jpg

Also, you have literally dozens of user mods active ... That's not good, for many reasons:

- Your DCS start up time gets longer, as each mod have to be loaded.

- Your DCS uses more ram than a cleaner setup, tough I see that you have lots of RAM (128 GB), it seems a bit of a waste tough.

- You don't actually use all of those mods at the same time.

- Greater chance of conflicts between Mods.

Even more, many of the Mods you have seem to be old versions, which results in lots of errors that usually are ignored by DCS but can result in hard to solve bugs.

On my case, I only enable the Mods that I'm actually using on my current Missions ... like you, I do have a large mod collection, but I only enable what I need at any one time.

Thank you Rudel, I don't know where to start. I don't have anything to place my Mods in and I don't know how to transfer all my Mods to another program. Thank you so much for all your help!!

Heard a funny story on a podcast about British F-4s....pilot said the plane flew terribly without stability augmentation so when the GIB wanted to fly the plane, they would turn the STAB AUG off in front, then hand over the stick, the GIB would fight the plane, then finally give it back to the front seater who would promptly turn the STAB AUG back on, thereby showing the GIB what a great pilot he was...

so I was wondering, is there a STAB AUG implementation in this bird?

Yep, that’s how to maintain god-like status! Stab Augs are 3 axis, just like in the tomcat.

Short Question:

Just downloaded the Version 2.2.2.200 and saw following sentence in the readme file :"Dieser Mod benötigt das DCS: Flaming Cliffs 3 (FC3) Modul"

I used to fly an earlier version of this F4 Mod, which i installed february 2023 and it worked, even when i dont have FC3.

Does the latest version of this mod needs FC3 now ?

Please go back https://filehorst.de/folder.php?key=duuqITUb verify I think you downloaded the wrong one, take your time, cause the latest version is 2.8.4.200.

Downloaded 2.8.4.200 ... extracted it and copied the VSN_F4 folder to c:\user\username\safed games\DCS.openbeta\Mods\aircraft\

Can see VSN F4 at startscreen of dcs, but aircraft dont works.

Also used my former used Throttle and Pedals Lua files, which i safed when i was using the older version of this mod, also dont work. Axis settings are maybe (cant test.mod will not work) OK, the rest vanished.

Nevada test for instantaction shows me F14 or A10 as an aircraft, the other test mission dont starts, only shows me in a small window Aircraftcarrier frequencies or other staff, but wont load the mission

It does work in MT

By chance did you forget to delete your earlier version before installing your new version?

Also check if your historical filter is on in Mission Editor.
