I'm sorry, but since the update of the PCL-181, i have some issues with the task "Fire at Point" (weapon auto).
The artillery is deploying, the canon get aligned to the target, but the fire never start.

This is the same mission I have made with PCL-181 SPG version 1.0.0, and it work well with the previous mod.
The fact that the battery aligns but does not fire makes me wonder if there is not a problem with the weapon selection! (weapon flag).

I will make complemantary tests!

Be sure to check your range to the target. The range upgraded unguided shell has an increased minimum range.

I'm sure (and I didn't change my artillery position in my mission, made with 1.0.0 PLC).

I have make other tests :
 - It firering when I use maximum range
 - It won't firering at medium or short range (short range, but beyond yellow circle, so more than 10 km)

As I mentioned, when I upgraded the unguided shell to 40 km I had to increase the minimum range. I will make a note and look at this later.

I made a test "Fire at Point" weapon auto,
- First test, at 21 km. It take position but it doesn't fire (cf screenshot1)
- Same test at 25 km : Same result
- Same test at : 28 km. It fire.
So I suppose the minimum distance is somewhere between 25 & 28 km (10km for the 1.0.0 version).
I think it is a lot.
Edit : It start firering at about 27km and it stop at 40km

Other thing  :
The maximum range we can see in the model Editor is 35 km (not 40)
And the minimum is 10. So it is not accurate from the news parameters.

I just tried it. I could fire the unguided shell between 3.3 - 21 nautical miles (6-40 km).

Edit: And the 6 km minimum range isn't that far off. A minimum of 3-4 km is often found in sources.

Ok, it's work well in your mission, but not in mine...
On this test, the PCL won't fire on the two first target, 10 & 23 km.
Maybe the relief.

Thanks. I see what the issue is. The combination of propelling charge and elevation limits doesn't allow it to fire in your particular mission setup. The minimum 20 degrees elevation would need a less powerful propelling charge, since its maximum elevation of 70 degrees makes it impossible to lob the shell at the close range target.

Yup, I was going to say I think you may want to check the elevations of the Vehicle and the Targets as this does impact the ability to fire at them both Min and Max ranges. One thing DCS does well is pay attention to the details.. Hehe. Try testing further North in the Caucauses map where the land is way flatter. Should be able to have the proper ranges then.

Yep, that's the issue here. I went with the OSINT data regarding cannon elevation, but it doesn't really add up. Since the elevation is between +20 and +70 it doesn't really give it room to stretch out. I've been looking for more info on the asset while fiddling around with it and noticed on some photos that the elevation goes closer to +-0 when it's rotated (and the cab isn't in its way).

And that is how I plan to implement it. If you want to fire at close range targets you will have to turn the vehicle more perpendicular to the target.
