Maybe a bit late request, but would it be possible to optionally remove the sighting unit and tv-monitor/pedestal on the upcoming modular 342L?

The 342 Minigun version has excellent forward view and I think most of us that fly L or Mistral versions don’t ever use the co-pilot sighting unit.

Or alternatively - being able to remove the minigun from the minigun variant...

Basically any opportunity to fly more in variants with an almost perfect forward view (e.g. no doors, no sighting tv/pedestal)! That is my big desire (other than a FM rework).

Correct, AFAIK it's planned to model the L with APX 334 Athos gyrostabilized binoculars (2x levels of magnification and no laser range finder) i.e. the L cockpit will lose the Viviane "TV".

The "binocular" view may be "similar" to this Ferranti ? sight from Episode 6 of "Flying Soldiers" (a 1997 UK documentary).

AFAIK work on the L's Athos sight is still at an early stage and subject to change.

Sounds great. The periscope will be a very welcome addition. Not many countries use the Viviane sight. Also good for a ”Cold War” environment.

In fact it is also used on the M variants  together with the Viviane system. But I don’t know the details on that integration. Here is a video of periscope+ Viviane sight in action:

That looks like SIT-ALAT, the GPS based French equivalent of NATO's Blue Force Tracker.

With all these updates coming to the Gazelle, will there also be an update for the Gazelle Paintkit (https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/1925303/) to make it a bit more user friendly and add the new weapons?

Personally, I am currently more happy about this than about a new map or a new module! Considering how long the Gazelle has been in DCS & how long we've waited for these updates...Let's hope it won't be too long before we can enjoy the 'new' Gazelle. And thanks to Polychop.

This update is looking very nice! I'm especially happy that the weapons will be rolled into one variant now. Looks like I can stop adding caveats to prospective Gazelle buyers!
