dubstepmachine Posted March 18, 2023 Posted March 18, 2023 I've noticed that most flight sims don't have clouds obscure your wings when flying which has been a huge gripe of mine, is there any chance DCS will able clouds be able to obscure your wings? It really helps bring in immersion when you're traveling in fog or a cloud and you can't even see your wing or it's barely visible. 10
IanC58 Posted March 18, 2023 Posted March 18, 2023 Think id get bored of that view quickly but quite a first post for you ... welcome 1 74_Fox
razo+r Posted March 18, 2023 Posted March 18, 2023 Fog already does what you wish for. Clouds not yet. 1

Not sure why you felt the need to change the direction of the topic but enlighten me how you would go about those tasks with visibility say at 50ft as in the picture seeing as you brought it up, SOPs? GGTharos Posted March 21, 2023 Posted March 21, 2023 Get into fingertip and stay there, practice lost wingman SOPs if you lose visibility. Fun times, I'm sure. 4 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Reminder: SAM = Speed Bump :D I used to play flight sims like you, but then I took a slammer to the knee - Yoda
IanC58 Posted March 21, 2023 Posted March 21, 2023 So no SOPs to show then for formation flying in 50ft visibility, just get in there and touch his wingtip before you can see it lol? 74_Fox

Sinclair_76 Posted May 27, 2023 Posted May 27, 2023 Most of the time you keep seeing the wings in clouds. Only in the center of thick convective clouds is where you lose sight. And that's with wings with a 35.8 meter span. Iirc this seems to be partially modelled in DCS. It was in 2.5 but I distinctly remember losing sight of my WM in fingertip.
Nealius Posted October 24, 2023 Posted October 24, 2023 With the three "overcast and rain" presets, there have been times where my wings are enveloped in the cloud. Not totally obscured, but not clearly visible either.
