That update is rolling out now:

Please be patient if you don't get the update from the Microsoft store quite yet... it takes a few hours, and sometimes up to 48 hours!

Just grabbed it.

Noticed the Res slider is gone now.

And what is this feature?

Wow!

I decided to try going back to 90Hz, 100% res, and locked at 45 in OXRToolkit. I also have OXRTool for WRM set at Limit to 1/2 Frame Rate.

Holy ***, it actually works now.

still experimenting.

It's not gone. You need to enable custom render scale checkbox first (same as before).

We had to replace the slider with an input box due to accessibility issues. But it still works exactly the same.

The Optical Flow motion reprojection is a new mode. It may or may not produce a better effect (it depends on people and games).

I wrote some slightly more complete release notes on the other sim's forum:

The Apache jelly rotor has been eliminated as well.

Just tried the 1/3 frame rate setting with OXRToolkit Unlocked.

PERFECT 30 fps, buttery smooth, no artifacting.
I did see a little flying Syria in the A-10C II (just on the outer cockpit frames.

I still see the wobble on the leading edges of the wings of the TF-51D, depending on what kind of textures are behind the wings.

That's probably what's called a "deocclusion" artifacts. We can't predict what's behind your wing, so unless it's a fairly simple/repeatable pattern, you will still see a trail of bubbliness. Hopefully you are not running at 1/4 rate because that's too low of a rate to get a decent experience IMO.

@mbucchia Really the improvement in the issue of rotors and propellers are incredible!, but we have a new problem in DCS, the night flight becomes almost impossible due to the amount of gosthing and wake effects that the terrain lights, aircraft lights ect... also with the NVG, test in the persian gulf map, I have to try in other maps and config. (Problems  with DCS secondary shadows?).

Settings: 70% SS, motion reproyectoin configure in openXR tools Unlocked, CPU: 3-5 ms GPU: 12-14 ms  solid 45 fps with moments of 90 fps...

DCS Settings: HIGH and EXTREME all else, MSAA 4x and SSLR, SSAA, Ambien oclusion and motion blur OFF.

CPU: 13900K, Gigabyte 4090 Game Oc, 64gb Ram.

Edit: small video where you can see something of the problem,(more clear in 00:01:17), are times that it happens in the entire image. (in this video SS 100% MSAA x2)

Desactivate NVIDIA optical flow reduces the effect but does not eliminate it.

So trying to update, my open XR tools for WMR GUI , in settings, I have "use latest preview Open XR runtime" checked and the version is 112.2211.2002 and in the mixed reality tab, it says its installed and active.....

However, my settings tab does noty show the "new" options such as optical flow and use best framerate...

Whats not right?

And is it still best to leave motion reprojection set at disabled in this app and force it on in the in game toolkit?

I have tried this Edmuss, went to the app store in my browser, typed in "open XR tools" but nothing relevant came up, just various productivity apps. Can you give me a link? Thanks

Thanks, I see I have to do it through the app rather than a web browser.

What about the query regarding setting MR in the tools or in game app?

Cheers!

In the MS Store there is an option to update apps, you can find the OpenXR Tools app there and click update, that is what I did.

some feedback for Mbucchia if it helps from me...... I found the artifacts worse and performance and smoothness better with turning off MR and locking frames at 45 and using turbo mode, after reducing a few settings in DCS ( which I notice no tangible effect from)  set shadows to off from low and clouds to medium from ultra and visibility range from high to medium

Hey there - I know that "MR on is MR on no matter where" - but I disabled MR in OpenXR Toolkit, enabled it in OpenXR Tools for WMR and it wasn't enabled...

So for now I'll just keep it enabled. Running like a dream now. Just curious if I misunderstood something.

i9 12900k, 3090, 90% res, locked at "45" FPS with decently high settings. Pretty cool!

Whatever you set it in OpenXR Toolkit overrides what is set it in OpenXR Tools for WMR

So if it's disabled in OpenXR Toolkit, it's disabled regardless if it's enabled in OpenXR Tools? That question sounds daft, but just confirming 🙂

That's my understanding. To enable MR in Tools, set Toolkit MR as 'Default'.

See the Toolkit notes: Motion reprojection (only with Windows Mixed Reality): Enable overriding the Motion Reprojection mode. Default means to use the system settings (from the OpenXR Tools for Windows Mixed Reality). https://mbucchia.github.io/OpenXR-Toolkit/features.html

I have it enabled in openxr tools and reprojection settings disappeared from openxr toolkit. But MR is definitely on. Runs like dream with 90 fps cap on 4080.
