Viciam1 Posted April 10, 2023 Posted April 10, 2023 Hi guys when i "tms up" on the ground fcr on a moving target square...the tgp doesnt look exactly at the vechicle in question. I have to make the tgp soi and then look around a little in the vicinity to find the actual truck. Is this right or should the tgp look exactly at the truck when I tms up on the square in the fcr thanks

If that doesnt happen, dont forget to press CZ to zero the cursor offset that is being applied after slewing the TGP around.
Viciam1 Posted April 10, 2023 Author Posted April 10, 2023 I see so tms up on the fcr on top of square then press cz on the tgp osb? or press cz on tgp then tms up on fcr on square? i thought cz put the tgp on the selected steerpoint?
razo+r Posted April 10, 2023 Posted April 10, 2023 CZ makes the TGP go back to the SPI, and in most cases its a steerpoint, unless you place a new SPI with for example the FCR.
Viciam1 Posted April 10, 2023 Author Posted April 10, 2023 I see... so hit cz in tgp then tms up on fcr gmt square? thank you also
razo+r Posted April 10, 2023 Posted April 10, 2023 Doesn't matter if you press CZ before or after locking it with the FCR. You can do either.
VarZat Posted April 10, 2023 Posted April 10, 2023 When you look a moving target with the FCR you are not actually locking the target, but rather the area around it. Hit the pinky switch and try to get the square as centered as possible and you wont have to look to long for it with the TGP.
Viciam1 Posted April 10, 2023 Author Posted April 10, 2023 Thanks guys so do i not need to press tms up on the fcr then. Just get the crosshair on the gmt square then make the tgp soi and look around?
TobiasA Posted April 10, 2023 Posted April 10, 2023 I usually go to the TGP, TMS down to delete the offset (three times out of a point track), then make FCR SOI and enter a GMT track. Then the TGP will point to the FCR track.

Does that do something different if you have GMT radar as SOI and a target selected? I seem to remember the TGP having trouble with moving SPI from radar and the function not being fully implemented yet in game.

We all have different control setups, so it's better to use the command name, not "pinky switch". Edited April 17, 2023 by SickSidewinder9
VarZat Posted April 17, 2023 Posted April 17, 2023 Yes i meant expand, normally called the pinky switch.
SickSidewinder9 Posted April 17, 2023 Posted April 17, 2023 (edited) My mistake. I thought that was uncage. Where is that IRL then? Edited April 17, 2023 by SickSidewinder9

The Uncage Switch is the depress function of the MAN RNG knob on the throttle.
