DCS Main Menu Buttons are Not Clickable

I just downloaded DCS and ran the game.

When I get to the main menu, the only buttons I can press are EXIT, LOGBOOK, and ENCYCLOPEDIA.

The Missions, Instant Action, Campaign, Multiplayer, Training, Replay, Mission Editor, and Campaign Builder do not work and respond to clicks.

I have run Updater again, it shows me nothing to update.

^^^ Buttons in the boxes are clickable ones. The ones outside do not light up blue when hovering on them and do not respond to any clicks.

Any help? (Thanks, I'm a beginner DCS player)

Did you open an account here in DCS?

I think you need an account - even without buying anything - to log into the game once correctly installed.

DCS download installs the free DCS world with 2 plane modules (T for Training) like the SU-25T and the T-51 if I remember correctly.

@THERION
Yes. I have an account for Forums and digitalcombatsimulator.com.
(I need to sign in with DCS for the game)

I also checked the Module Manager, and it says I have the SU-25T and the T-51.Screenshot_2023-06-03_at_4.38.57_PM.png

Though I don't have any terrain.

That must be your issue. Download at least free Caucasus or Mariana Islands terrain and you should be fine.

Caucasus for sure.

Is there a way that I can get free terrain without getting the Open Beta? (My internet's going to get maxed out if I get another 150GB for Open Beta)

I don't use open beta and can confirm that Marianas map is also available to stable version of DCS for a long time.

It does, but the installer now gives you the choice of installing none of them.

Nevermind.

I tried to download the second terrain and it tells me:

Y:\DCS\autoupdater_log.txt is not found.

autoupdater_log.txt exists in my DCS folder, what should I do?

My problem:

This looks like a file permission issue. Have you by any chance run DCS_updater.exe as Administrator just once? This can generate this kind of issues.

Anyway, rename your autoupdate_log.txt file so the updater cannot find it, then see if the updater is able to create a new one.

I'm not sure what's happening to you. If your DCS_updater.exe is still executed with Admin rights, please try to run it without Admin rights. And vice versa.

If it doesn't help, open a support ticket: log into DCS website, click "Support", then "Create a new ticket".

Hello,

I have downloaded DCS with the Installer, not on Steam. I have been trying to download Terrain, though it keeps giving me the error:

Y:\DCS\autoupdate_log.txt: (3) The system cannot find the path specified.

Though, I literally have a file in Y:\DCS named autoupdate_log.txt.

(I have tried that exact path in File Explorer and it shows up)

I have tried many ways listed on the Internet, finding it not to work.

I didn't get to download the 2 free maps. Can anyone upload it to Google Drive, etc. then can I move it to my Terrains folder?

Thank you!

The Support team just repeats over and over that running on a Mac with Parallels (Windows 11 VM) doesn't work. It does, it's just my updater. Can one of you guys send me the Caucasus terrain (free) as a folder (.zip) so I can add it to my Terrains folder?

Even if you got the folder from someone, I'm not sure it would work (ie. become "visible" and fully functional in game). Unlike MSFS, DCS uses its module manager for installing, uninstalling, activation and deactivation of all official terrain and aircraft content. From various posts in bugs section of the forum I seem to recall trying to move folders in or out manually only causes problems.

From what I know, one of my friends got a map that way and it worked just fine--though he doesn't have DCS anymore.

Well, also, any idea how to fix the

Y:\DCS\autoupdate_log.txt: (3) The system cannot find the path specified.

problem?

I already contacted Support, they didn't help.

That's interesting and worth trying then. Still, finding someone willing to spend hours/days and having some payware storage site account sufficient to upload 17 gigs of data (which exceeds standard free google account limit I think?) is a bit of a stretch. Do you have a buddy or place at your work with usual all-Windows PC, where you could temporarily install DCS with both free maps and copy it to external drive? That might be a  faster option.

Are you trying to install and run DCS on a MAC? I don't know if DCS will work on a MAC...
