MbR2XgD Posted June 24, 2023 Posted June 24, 2023 My graphics card has low frames(60,42 and 24 very quickly). I don't know how to fix it. I try to change the "graphics.lua", I change the default settings from Dcs without success. GTX1080 is too old? I cannot fly anymore. Hipster Posted June 24, 2023 Posted June 24, 2023 Hi - until very recently I was using a GTX 1080 (with i5-9600k, 32GB RAM, 1440 monitor, in a fairly low-end system) and getting high 60-70 FPS with higher in-game settings than you have set. Then suggest you check out the various YT videos on how to optimise settings (Spudknocker has a particularly good one which includes NVidia Control Panel settings) but there are plenty of others. More recent ones include specific settings for multi-thread to ensure your system is making the most of the new MT. Then it's a question of experimenting to get the best "sweet spot" for your system vs game settings. IMO you should be able to run reasonably high settings with FPS in the 40-60 range with a GTX 1080 in MT as that's what I was getting. It did take a bit of research and "tweaking" to get it working like I wanted it. Good luck and happy experimenting! PC -> i5-12400F, 32GB RAM, RTX 3060 Ti, dedicated SSD. T16000 HOTAS. Opentrack/PS3 Camera & MSI monitor(s)...(Reality, virtual or otherwise, makes me feel a little nauseous.)
MbR2XgD Posted June 25, 2023 Author Posted June 25, 2023 (edited) Can I show your dcs Settings? please, I deleted my "dcs.openbeta" folder and create a new one(default). Now my fps is 60 to 40 variable without Vsync. Which resolution do you play dcs? FHD? I can play FHD only. Actually, I never try 4K. I'm not crazy. Dcs-mt is impossible to play. MbR2XgD Posted June 27, 2023 Author Posted June 27, 2023 Thank you @Hipster Unfortunately, I have good and bad news. The bad news is I cannot fly anymore, my GTX1080 is too old. I watched the spudknocker video with no success. In the next(2 or 3) years, I can buy a new PC. My GTX1080 is Galax Exoc very limited. The good news. draconus Posted June 27, 2023 Posted June 27, 2023 Can be a lot of things causing this so let's start with ideas. VRAM full - try with textures: medium and terrain textures: low. CPU OC fail or overtemp (I see CPU temp over 77oC) - throttling problem - disable OC for testing, make sure your cooling is sufficient. Remove any apps running in the background - some input devices come with some drivers and apps that can mess with DCS. Upload your \saved games\dcs world\logs\dcs.log - if you're using any mods - remove and try again. Run DCS slow repair and clean. Try also new clean DCS profile. It's not your gfx card fault and it's not too old, unless it's faulty h/w of course. Win10 i7-10700KF 32GB RTX4070S Quest 3 T16000M VPC CDT-VMAX TFRP FC3 F-14A/B F-15E CA SC NTTR PG Syria

Asphelite Posted July 5, 2023 Posted July 5, 2023 (edited) Hey all, I have been seeing the same issues since a couple of patches now. Often when there is an F14 (now an F15E as well) in the mission or as soon as someone changed their livery. I dont know in how far this is an actual bug in the game's engine, it is known that DCS does not or used to not unload certain things or objects even if they are dead or out of view so I would not be surprised if there is an underlying bug that causes this rather unusual loss of performance. Regularly I can play at 90 to 120fps depending on mission and terrain - with the Textures set to High (which I had set it to since I started playing DCS in 2021) I quickly get limited to 20-40 fps near the ground or when looking inside my cockpit, which is very odd to me since it used to be fine. I was able to fix this problem by lowering my Texture Setting to "Medium". DCS then behaves as usual and I simply expect my RX5700XT not to be able to handle DCS with its 8GBs of GDDR6. (both on MT and ST). Hope that helps. For transparency, here is my PC configuration and my DCS Settings: CPU: AMD R5 3600X MB: MSI B550 Gaming Plus RAM: 32GB@3200Mhz CL16 GPU: Aorus RX5700XT OC (8GB GDDR6) DCS running on a 1TB SATA SSD with Windows Pagefile set to 28gb (apart from MT doing wonky stuff [Access Violations], DCS has never crashed on me with a Memory Issue since manually troubleshooting the "Out of Memory" and "Bad Memory Pointer" issues and setting the Pagefile to an adequate size. You dont need to do that I just thought it might be of interest) Edited July 5, 2023 by Asphelite 1

DCS is using far less than 98% of RAM, what is using the rest while you're running DCS? You are out of RAM so you either need to stop the other things that are using it, get more RAM or make sure your swap file is properly configured on fast storage. Take that first screen shot again and don't cut it off - let's see everything because you have other apps using 12GB of RAM (far more than 10%). What are they? 4GB is very likely not sufficient swap file if you're maxing out RAM. You need to increase it if you can't reduce RAM usage or upgrade RAM. What storage is it on and what else is on that storage? The NS430 behaviour is not new, it's been happening for a very long time. Check out the thread that was linked, it was started in 2018.
