Should the TPOD bounce around so much?

Whether in area track or point track the TPOD does not hold track very well for me. Instead of holding solid it constantly moves off target with even minor aircraft movements and continues to slide off target as I approach making it difficult to use LGBs effectively.

Is this normal for the 15E? In other modules the TPOD is very solid once track is obtained.

No, it shouldn’t do that. Once you designate it should stabilize, but instead it starts drifting. If you slew the TPOD crosshairs again after designating, it re-stabilizes. Seems like backward logic.

Noticed it too, looks like a bug for me, we have few topics about it already.

For me it looks like it collects data from 2D screen (coursor of TPod) but not from lat/long 3D environemnt of the simulator, so if you will change place and angle you will notice that it shows different place too (it looks like).

Yes I confirmed the pod just doesn't seem to hold steady, even when object has already been tracked and designated. Can move around quite a bit whenever aircraft maneuvers.

I hope it will be fixed soon, a little annoying.

Its a good idea to add it to bug section.

Just discovered that if TPOD is set to PTRAK ON at a target, it would stay solid track without any movement at all. So it could be that when Untracked or Area track, the pod has difficulty trying to track onto something, whereas in PTRK, it has something to latch on.

What is the diff between having the PTRK or ATRK or CMPT (near bottom right push button, TGP) boxed and unboxed? Why does it become unboxed after designation?

PTRK or ATRK becomes boxed when the targeting pod is tracking the target.
