For some reason, your updater is not up-to-date:

Hi, your log shows you are on the stable branch, not open beta

Go into the dcs\bin folder
Hold Lshift and right click somewhere in the folder
Click on "open PowerShell window here"
Type .\DCS_updater.exe update '@openbeta' and press enter
Download the update

Greetings, did I understand correctly, if I did, from this explanation I can conclude that we can download the update from Open Beta to stable 2.8 from the stable version 2.8 using this procedure, for example: DCS 2.8.8.43489???

I hope the topic is not outdated

Yes, the method described will convert whatever existing stable version you have into the latest open beta available today.

Do you think I can download the update from the Open Beta for the stable version 2.8.I am interested in the last and penultimate update for 2.8 DCS which is not released for regular download, specifically: DCS 2.8.8.43489 Open Beta

PS The last one we got before this one was: DCS 2.8.7 42718 Stable

ED always keeps a few older DCS versions on their servers for a while (2-3 months?) before deleting them, so yes, I'm pretty sure you can still convert last stable to the last 2.8.xx build of OB. It should still be available allright.

I'm not at my PC at the moment so can't check what powershell (or cmd window) command you need to type, but it will be very similar to the one BigNewy wrote above, just with specific version number added. There's a sticky thread in tutorials section of the forum which explains how to use dcs_updater commands to switch between various DCS versions. Try to find it and follow instructions.

Also, If you plan to do such version switching / converting more often, I'd recommend installing Skatezilla's GUI updater utility, which does the same thing via more convenient gfx interface rather than manual typing. Very nice and useful tool.

If I understand what you're asking correctly, NO you can't put the OB update on top of the old 2.8 STABLE.  If you want to use 2.8.8.43489 you need to run it as OB not stable.  If you wan to run stable you're stuck with whatever the last released version of it was.  If you want the new functions right now you have to be running OB.  They are completely separate and have way too many changes between them for the code to be compatible.

If this isn't what you meant, please ignore this post. 🙂
