The Syrian Army has retreated to the Palmyra Army Depot and are expected to hold the base against the current Daesh attack. The Palmyra Army Depot is a suspected WMD storage area, and it’s in Syria’s best interest to secure these weapons from being compromised. The State Department and OGA have reached out to the Syrian leadership to offer assistance in securing the WMD but all offers have been declined. The COALITION partners have determined that WMD falling into the hands of DAESH is to be avoided at all cost. ________________________________________ The Russian Navy Task Force centered around t he Cruiser VARYAG is expected to make port at Tartus this afternoon. Refueling and replenishment operations are expected to take 12 hours. ________________________________________ RIVET JOINT has detected indications of a new SA-3 battery located at TYIAS airbase. The proximity to the FEBA near Palmyra indicates that the Syrians intend to hold TIYAS in the face of any organized Daesh attack. ________________________________________ The new teletype link (POLECAT) between the Syrian Ministry of Defense, RUAFHQ and JACKAL is now operational. This development is meant to ensure positive communications between military leadership on all sides of the situation in Syrian. ________________________________________ ************* MISSION PLANNING Mission Number – XR-352-P Departure: VFR Departure runway 31 from C2 (8998 ft remaining) Afterburner: Yes Departure Instructions: VFR 31 Dep LEFT turn heading 180 maintain 6000. Evil.Bonsai Posted October 5, 2023 Posted October 5, 2023 (edited) Why do we need to be proficient in F16C? "This mission is designed for players who are proficient in the DCS F-16C module and its weapons systems. " Edited October 5, 2023 by Evil.Bonsai

Sedlo Posted October 20, 2023 Author Posted October 20, 2023 Good catch! version 2.9.A001 updated October 19, 2023 1. Unlimited fuel for wingman - Script added so when wingman's fuel is below 50% internal tanks, the fuel level is frozen. No more wingmen running out of fuel during a mission due to AI behaviour. (If they use the tanker, the fuel will go to 100% and stay there). 2. Adjusted some triggers and scripts for better gameplay. 3. Changed version numbering to be similar to DCS version numbering. https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3332633/ 1 2 My Youtube Channel MY DCS MISSIONS
Scotch75 Posted March 9 Posted March 9 G'day @Sedlo ,I just did this mission and thoroughly enjoyed it. It has fantastic immersion with great voice-overs. Well done to all involved.I was tasked with destroying the building with a GBU-31 (penetrator) with a delayed fuze. To ensure correct fuze settings, I went into the preflight editor and chose a fuze with a delayed action.Earbud gave me all of the information and coordinates for the structure, plus the instruction to bomb through the clouds. This seemed quite the challenge for the Hog, as I'm not sure there is a way to load the coordinates directly into the bomb (I'm happy to be educated) without using SPI from the TGP, HUD etc (requiring a TMS up long to send the coordinates). Even when I had STPT as the SPI (indicated in the HUD), the final action to send the coordinates to the bomb was unable to be performed as the only two SOI available was TAD and HUD. I flew in from the east on a CCRP profile, but the bomb would not drop after holding pickle for a few seconds.I then tried again on another session. I dropped beneath the clouds, used the TGP to refine the coordinates, TMS up long to send these to the bomb, then climbed above the clouds to complete a successful CCRP release, to devastate said building. I just wanted to let you know, as it seems this mission was ported over from the F-16 mission, where I believe you can punch the coordinates directly into the GBU-31 (as a PP). As I said, I'd be happy to be educated if the Hog can do the same.Cheers!Sent from my SM-G998B using Tapatalk W10 Home 64Bit, Intel Skylake I5 6600K 3.50GHz, ASUS ROG Stryx Z270F MoBo, 32GB G.Skill RipJaws V DDR4 3200 RAM, Samsung 960 Pro 512GB M.2 SSD (OS), Samsung 850 Pro 512GB SSD, 2TB Seagate SDHD, 2TB WD Green HDD, GALAX GTX GeForce 1070 EXOC Sniper White 8GB VRAM

CCRP releases always go on the SPI (*). So it's up to you to decide which sensor will generate the SPI during your run-in. When you receive coordinates, the most sensible thing is to create a new waypoint from these coordinates, set it as the active steerpoint, and make sure STPT is your SPI generator. (*) Well ackshually JDAMs can be programmed to a specific waypoint in the depths of the DSMS. This setting is however ignored and doesn't seem to serve any purpose, as far as I can tell. 13 minutes ago, Scotch75 said: requiring a TMS up long to send the coordinates That sounds like a bit of a misunderstanding. The bomb never knows about the coordinates until it gets released via a long hold of the pickle button. It's only then that the target coordinates are transferred to the weapon. TMS Forward Long simply tells the jet to set your SOI as the SPI generator. Also, common misconception: This does not designate a fixed SPI that will remain until the TMS Forward Long command is pressed again. Instead, it will tell the jet which sensor will be in charge of generating the SPI from now on. With TGP as SPI generator, slewing the TGP will update the SPI to where ever the TGP looks. With STPT as SPI generator, the current steerpoint will be SPI and cycling/changing the steerpoint will update the SPI. Likewise for the other sensors. 20 minutes ago, Scotch75 said: I flew in from the east on a CCRP profile, but the bomb would not drop after holding pickle for a few seconds. Did you check the weapon status on the DSMS STAT page? For IAMs it needs to be RDY (ready). Flying straight for a certain amount of time can drop JDAM's and WCMD's alignment state into ALN RDY or similar, in which case they can no longer be dropped. In order to update the weapon, transferring the jet's alignment onto the weapon will be initiated be either a heading change (roughly 60° or more) or a good wiggle of the wings. It's good practice to plan for one or two turns shortly before reaching a target for these kinds of weapons to make sure they're ready to go when in range.

I did try this several times, holding the pickle button for several seconds with no release. I'll try again, maybe without clouds to get visual.Cheers! Clouds should not be a factor here. When you're within the Dynamic Launch Zone and hold down the weapon release button, the weapon should come off the station. Could you try and replicate the issue in a short track?

Yeah, the way to do it is make a new waypoint, then set it as SPI and bomb that. My Youtube Channel MY DCS MISSIONS
Scotch75 Posted March 10 Posted March 10 Well, it worked. I don't know why it didn't work in the mission, but I was able to bomb on coordinates on a quick made test mission. I'm glad I learnt how to do this in the A-10 as it is handy in cloud covered targets. Many thanks for the help.Sent from my SM-G998B using Tapatalk 1 W10 Home 64Bit, Intel Skylake I5 6600K 3.50GHz, ASUS ROG Stryx Z270F MoBo, 32GB G.Skill RipJaws V DDR4 3200 RAM, Samsung 960 Pro 512GB M.2 SSD (OS), Samsung 850 Pro 512GB SSD, 2TB Seagate SDHD, 2TB WD Green HDD, GALAX GTX GeForce 1070 EXOC Sniper White 8GB VRAM
