I can't select the print screen button in UI by hitting that key only by using the drop-down list. The print screen key works as it should when not in DCS. It's not selected in any aircraft yet when I do try that its grayed out. In the general tag under screen print it is also grayed out

Is the problem that, even when you set it in the UI Layer it doesn’t work? Also, have you tried to run Repair to see if that fixes the issue? I’m away from my PC for a few weeks, so I can’t check to see what mine looks like, unfortunately.

Yes when I set it in the UI Layer it does not work, and I have done a repair

A re-installation is pointless. A full/slow repair will reset the installation to default, but neither a repair or re-installation will touch Saved Games, where the issue probably is. Rename the  DCS/DCS.openbeta folder in Saved Games, and check if that fixed it. And then copy the folders one by one from the backup until you find the error which probably is in the config/input folder somewhere.

Cheers!

Hi everybody, I don't know why but i'm not anymore able to take  a screen shot when i'm in the game. I'm not able to configure a keyboard key in the control panel. And when I'm right clicking in the keyboard column and on screen shot rectangle it dosn't give me any option to insert a key.

I don't know if it because I have finish to install few day's ago my (WINWING MIP).

Is there some one have any clue.

Thank you.

Hi, I noticed an issue with the PrintScreen default key: it's now impossible to take a screenshot of the Controls menu or the Rear menu. I reported this internally.

Which category are you trying to edit? Use the "UI Layer" category.

Probably because neither ED or 3rd parties have removed it from the modules after it was moved to the UI Layer. And we can't even clear it in the modules. Which makes we think it's hardcoded in the core, and applied to all modules. But, It does capture to the clipboard it seems. 🤷‍♂️

Yeah, and I've noticed we can't screengrab the Controls Settings anymore.
Cheers!

PS: There are more conflicts.

I was having this issue as well; I couldn't understand why SHIFT+PRTSC (Print Screen) stopped working. then I noticed DCS was looking for SysRq (system request with no modifier); so I tried only the PRTSC button and it worked (no Shift or ALT combination).

There's another thread about this. When ED moved it to the UI Layer, I guess they either forgot to remove it from core, or the different modules, and also tell all 3rd parties to remove it.
In any case, @Flappie is on it, and it's reported, so hopefully it will be solved.

Cheers!

Can you show me the VA command? Make sure DCS is target app for the command, and remember that the DCS "exe" is different for MT than ST.

Cheers!

nullSee screen grab. Note: I did not have issues until the last DCS update.

Just tested. True, it doesn't work with VoiceAttack. Keyboard does though, and other VA commands are fine. Not sure if it is a VA error or if DCS "blocks" the key if it is not physically pressed by the keyboard.

DCS shows the relevant key as "SysReq", which is a key that doesn't exist as a virtual key in Windows. Sending a Print Screen keypress using the standard Windows API methods doesn't trigger the ingame function. That's about all.

DCS has used an input system that behaves in non-standard ways for years, E.G. when using a non-QWERTY keyboard layout it'd still show key labels as if you were.

The only workaround "solution" is to change the combo on the UI Layer. I used LALT+LCTRL+Home as that combo is not used by any other mod.

Yeah, but it used to work. And I guess it stopped after the switch to UI Layer. You made me think, so I might test something later.

Cheers!
