And a MiG-21 PF will be also great! Right now the development focus is on two aircraft assets, the B-57G Canberra and the CH-46D Sea Knight. For the MiG-17 we have a new base model, which needs to be evaluated. If time permits, it will join the two above, but it is more likely that it will come at a later date. The MiG-21PFM (not PF) will be updated by the modeller in late 2025, we hope, and then we can start rigging it for DCS. We have quite a huge number of models on our backlog and hope to bring some more goodies to the Vietnam experience in DCS, but clearly this will take more time. We try to push out updates regularly, so folks can enjoy the mods progress. For this we need to focus our efforts on a few assets per update cycle, as otherwise there's simply not enough time. Cheers, TeTeT 12 2
Chap2012 Posted October 4 Posted October 4 I know you go after Aviation and Naval, but have you ever though about adding ground assets for Vietnam? 2

Cheers, TeTeT any plan for pre-1968 MiG-21 variant like the PF? I kinda want to recreate an authentic Operation Rolling Thunder

Good luck with Rolling Thunder, I believe it's a very interesting campaign for DCS. 3

A F-13 would be 100% realistic for Vietnam War. 4 I don't understand anything in russian except Davai Davai!
Tengah Posted October 4 Posted October 4 To recreate Rolling Thunder accurately, make sure you have the F-105D Thunderchief (Thud) in your mods, and be sure to lose a lot of them 1

TeTeT Posted October 5 Author Posted October 5 Currently doing sea trials with the AI CH-46D Sea Knight (Phrog). A short video how it looks like, featuring Enterprise (VWV) and Sacramento (from TheAdmiral): 10

Not much of a chance to squeeze it in this year. We've been looking into the CH-46D suspension problem and made some progress, but there's still room for improvement. We also do not fully understand which issues stem from ship or terrain and which from the helicopter. Still investigating. On the Knox Destroyer Escort with SAM batteries, we have a working theory, but not tested the updated config yet. 10 1
Woogey Posted October 9 Posted October 9 I can't wait to hear more info on the Late Cold War Vessels project. Will it be 1980's, or Desert Storm era? More generalized 70' & 80's? Vietnam era is great, but I am an 80's kid. I guess I'm not so much of a kid anymore......... -Woog 3
RedeyeStorm Posted October 10 Posted October 10 @Woogey, if it helps, from my point of view you are! Sixties ‘kid’ here. 2
TeTeT Posted 9 hours ago Author Posted 9 hours ago Hi, quick report from the current development of Vietnam War Vessels: We're busy rigging the CH-46D model from Odyseus. So far good progress has been made, and there's more work to pour into the project. With some outside help we got the new rotor blur more or less working; the suspension is animated; the sling loading works, albeit we don't have a cargo hook yet; the CH-46D comes in two versions currently, one with the chaff/flare dispenser and one without; some navigation lights are available; the flight model is still under development but starts and landing work now. Overall it looks quite promising! We would love to make the Phrog more heavy in flight operations and reduce it's agility. Also we want to customize the pilot figures a bit. And then it needs lots of testing We might have a surprise addition in Vietnam War Vessels 2.2.0 as well. Another plane, the military version of an iconic civilian aircraft, has been donated to the mod. Cheers, TeTeT 6 2
Devil 505 Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago (edited) Any chance you gents are looking at any future Helos like the Jolly Green, Sea Stallion, H-34 Choctaw, H-19 Chickasaw, or CH-54 Sky Crane? Would love to see a proper H-19 or H-34. Also, greatly appreciate all your hard work. Been putting a Vietnam airbase together on the WW2 Marianas map using the VWV pack, VAP pack, and Eighballs civilian maritime pack. Should have a video up soon. I will throw it on here. Looking forward to incorporating your mod pack going forward I have some suggestions for further Vietnam Maritime assets I think you gents or Eightball would be awesome at bringing to DCS.
