Maivenn Posted January 14, 2024 Posted January 14, 2024 Im guessing (or possibly hoping!!) they'll want to undercut the Thrustmaster (TPR) pedals

Dragon1-1 Posted January 19, 2024 Posted January 19, 2024 Pretty cool. Won't be moving from my TM pedals (I prefer the pendular mechanism), but it looks like a solid competitor. Other than the pedals, I pretty much run an all-Winwing setup. In fact, I hope that at some point, they'll expand their offer to include a pendular rudder and perhaps limited travel, non-pantograph transducer pedals, like on the real Hornet and Viper. The latter is something I haven't really seen done.
Ishigami Posted January 20, 2024 Posted January 20, 2024 I honestly don't know. Almost all of my kit is from WW because they offer replicas with good quality for an affordable price. But these pedals I'm not excited about. I'm not in the market for pedals so maybe it is partially that. Mechanically they are similar to Virpil VPC Ace and very similar to the MFG Crosswind V3 rudder pedals. As far as price goes the difference isn't that big either. Pure rudder pedals about 20€ cheaper than Virpils Ace and 10€ cheaper than MFG. With damper the gap opens just a little more. MFG with damper is just 20€ more expensive and 30€ with Virpil. I have the MFG Crosswind V3 with damper and they are a blast. I just want to make people aware that there are alternatives that are not much more expensive that come out of the EU (Virpil = Lithuania; MFG = Croatia).
Dragon1-1 Posted January 20, 2024 Posted January 20, 2024 The thing with pedals is, you can't do much with them. It's three axes and maybe a bunch of locking pins. Winwing mentions a vehicle mode, which presumably locks the main axis mechanically and leaves only toe brakes, but that's a rather minor feature. Literally the only top level pedals with any sort of difference from the standard are the TPR. Even SimAppPro compatibility is not much of a selling point, as there's nothing to customize. I see their set as yet another set of pantograph pedals with relatively little to distinguish them. It's a good start, but TPR will do for me unless someone comes up with an actual set of transducer pedals.

Bwaze Posted February 6, 2024 Posted February 6, 2024 Just received my pedals! Winwing Skywalker (Orion Metal Flight Rudder Pedals)! My unboxing, assembly (without damper for now), measuring force needed for full yaw and brake deflection, comparison to to Baur BRD-MS3 rudder pedals (2017) - since many people commented relatively high force needed for full deflection and brake press. Interesting points: Manual states 8.5 kg force for full yaw deflection, I measured about 11.4 kg! Manual states 7.5 kg force for full brake deflection, I measured about 6.3 kg. For comparison, Baur BRD-MS3 rudder pedals (2017) only need 6.2 kg for full yaw deflection, about half of Winwing Skywalker / Orion rudder's 11.4 kg! For maximum brake deflection I measured about 2.7 kg, less than half of Winwing Skywalker / Orion rudder's 6.3 kg! 2

The one that comes with the pedals is perfect for warbirds There is a slight cam action through neutral Apart from that very good. Quality looks to be getting better with each new product Winwing releases, but they always leave one or two problems as if on purpose Like the squishy yet stiff MIP buttons

I just placed the pre-order for Winwing's pedal, the main reason I didn't choose MFG or Virpil is because of the shipping and tax. MFG costs 70 USD to ship to Canada and that's the price without tax. So the whole price to get MFG with damper to be delivered to Canada would be around 600 CAD+, but Winwing costs 486 CAD. I just wish I lived in the EU. Edited February 20, 2024 by mason.zh 1
