I have a VERY BIG NEWS about SKINS and MISSION - DcsMax 1.6

This program is great. I'm just getting started using it. But what is a mumble folder? And what is the Core Delay for?? I don't see anything in the ReadMe about either of these..

 

Also, is it possible to add parameters to the Utility programs? So, I can have TouchBuddy automatically load my DCS profile?

DCS MAX 1.6 does not allow me to start Track IR 5 on Windows 7 64bit RC.

 

Anyone know why that is? Can it be that DCS MAx does not cope with blanks in the installation pat of Teamspeak?

 

Same here, I am using latest version of ti5 and that happened when I first installed tir5, but I changed the TrackIR5.exe name to just TrackIR.exe and then it worked, once then didnt work again :(

 

Conclusion: Whatever I try, I cannot get Tir5 to work more than once with DCSMax 1.6.1 which is a pity, this is on XP also.

I'm curious. If you can change the skin of a helicopter in a mission, does that mean you could potentially also change the starting point of the helicopter in that mission?

 

What I'm asking basically is, can you do something similar, to allow us to ramp start a campaign mission?

snako: delay is added as the affinity fix performs better when delayed. Adding all four cores at once can be unreliable.

 

mumble is a VOI app. Some are hoping it will be incorporated so you can set a radio frequency in BS and actually be able to talk to others when doing so.

dcsmax 1.7.0 is having problems at my end opening trackir5

 

Thing is, when it does work, sometimes I can get it to load trackir when dcsmax starts but the majority of the time I cant, but on the odd occasion I can get trackir5 to load with dcsmax, when ingame, the views are messed up and the centre view button doesnt work.

 

Take DCSmax out of the loop and everything works as it should.

 

I just cant understand asto why trackir5 will load on the odd occassion with dcsmax and when it does, trackir goes haywire and centre view doesnt work, although when alt tabbing out of the game, trackir is still using the same profile for blckshark.

 

When I dont use dcsmax, trackir works fine manually and works perfect ingame, but if I try and start dcsmax and then start trackir5 manually, the views ingame are crazy and centre view doesnt work.

 

Running trackir5 and dcsmax as admin.

 

I have no idea of what the cause is :(

I think I have it sorted now, for some weird reason trackir was opening multiple times and never closing properly, although it would look like the program closed judging by the desktop as the trackir icon would close but the actual app wouldnt close, so it was hidden and still running, so when dcsmax goes to run it was opening another trackir process and thats where the clash was.

I'm running Vista x64 with a TrackIr 5 and just choose to start the TrackIr software outside of DcsMax 1.6.1. I was having some TrackIr issues, when giving DCS:BS affinity to all of my hyperthreaded cores (Intel i7 920). I, now, leave one true core (2 hyperthreaded) out of the affinity setting to handle all of the Vista bloat. Everything works great.

 

I can't believe the difference in mission load times, when setting processor affinity with DcsMax.

I have been using this successfully with win7 however tonight I downloaded cat 9.6 video drivers and everytime time I try to use dcsmax I get an instant lockup when I select single player. TIR4 starts and runs ok but single player freezes immediately. I have reinstalled dcsmax but the issue remains.

 

Any ideas?

I get the message telling me my skin has been applied but always get the default skin.

 

Do the skins listed in the pull down list mean those are the ones I have, or is it a default list and doesn't mean I necessarily have them?

 

I've chosen several from the list and always get the message yet I always get the default skin in the game. Thanks.

I think it doesn't work on a patched version 1.0.2 :(. When I'am trying to provide installation Dir it is not detecting Blackshark.

Yes that's true however from what I see there is no way to change the direct file DcsMax is reffering to. In the Ini file there is only a path to BS root, so it is I think hard coded that DcsMax reffers to old DCS file and therfore probably we are not able to change it without changing the code.

i can setting other path of game but in other path no way found new exe

Has anyone figured out if this works for the new BS? I have my install path as D:\Ubisoft\Eagle Dynamics\Ka-50, but no matter where I point it...it does not find what it needs. I have even tried to point it to the D:\Ubisoft\Eagle Dynamics\Ka-50\bin\x86\stable folder but nothing is working. It just keeps asking for the BS Directory, and of course nothing works. :helpsmilie:

 

Any help would be much appreciated, even if its just a confirmation that it doesn't work so I can put this behind me. I would really to have the affinity and Skin loading feature though so hoping there is a way!

It's broken with patch v1.02 and can only be fixed by the author. BTW the affinity is no longer needed as patch v1.01 fixed that issue. However DCSMAX is still useful for a quickly getting to the cockpit. I'd like to see it fixed too.
