This is a repost of my original post in the VRA forums: http://www.virtualredarrows.com/forums/forum_posts.asp?TID=963

(new original model, from scratch)

Hello everyone, i've come with greetings of updates (well, first and last really smiley2.gif)

Members of the VRA already know of my project on a new Bae Hawk T1 trainer for the VRA, but this is for everyone and not just the VRA. I've taken a long time to get this finished (2-3 weeks remaining) and i thought i'd tease everyone with some screenies of the current work in progress.

The physical model is around 70% complete, requiring gears, fuel pod, cockpit, and other small details that will complete this project once and for all. There are no skins for this model as of yet, the colours you see are just to give you a feel of what it should look like, but nothing beats shaggy's textures that will finally be applied to this model after completion.

Here are some screenies both in viewports and quick/draft render in 3dsmax. Hope you Enjoy smiley4.gif ....

Nice Hawk. You should however take a closer look at the forward fuselage. The sides of the canopy on your model seem to be angled inwards, right from the bottom sill, it starts to curvature at a much higher point though, th e lower sides are vertical! Take a look at these images to see what I'm talking about: http://www.airliners.net/photo/UK---Air/British-Aerospace-Hawk/1244174/L/

i think its correctly modelled when i look at it, maybe the nose is to wide at the front pic there which gives the aspect of that the sides curves.

Intel Core i7-8700 3,20GHz - EVGA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti SC2 - 32Gb Ram - DCS on 500 GB SSD - Windows 10 - Thrusmaster Warthog - Thrustmaster TPR pedals - Track Ir 5 - Samsung Odyssey+

Now ED, about the BAe Hawk.....

The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance.

Superb! One of the VNAO guys (VFA143_X-Man) flies the US Navy T-45 version of the Hawk for real (although he's been selected to transition the Hornet in the next couple of months).

Will be completely awesome when this model is completed! Please keep up the great work.

OldCrow, if you don't have the manuals for the Bae Hawk I have the manuals for the T-45. This might help to get For that you are pretty much limited to gun, rockets and bombs (that's all the HUD will do).
