RED9R1pper Posted April 4, 2009 Posted April 4, 2009 (edited) This is a repost of my original post in the VRA forums: http://www.virtualredarrows.com/forums/forum_posts.asp?TID=963 (new original model, from scratch) Hello everyone, i've come with greetings of updates (well, first and last really ) Members of the VRA already know of my project on a new Bae Hawk T1 trainer for the VRA, but this is for everyone and not just the VRA. I've taken a long time to get this finished (2-3 weeks remaining) and i thought i'd tease everyone with some screenies of the current work in progress. The physical model is around 70% complete, requiring gears, fuel pod, cockpit, and other small details that will complete this project once and for all. There are no skins for this model as of yet, the colours you see are just to give you a feel of what it should look like, but nothing beats shaggy's textures that will finally be applied to this model after completion. Here are some screenies both in viewports and quick/draft render in 3dsmax. Hope you Enjoy .... Model to be completed and ready for both VRA and public use within a month. I will post more updates on the gears, pilot, etc in the next couple of days. So check regularly RED5|R1pper www.platinum-pc.co.uk Model will be completed next week, and a futher 1 week for texturing. It will be publically avaliable for download and use as freeware for the downloadable VRA model/add-on. RED5|R1pper Edited April 4, 2009 by RED9|R1pper 2 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

RhineHornet Posted April 20, 2009 Posted April 20, 2009 Nice Hawk. You should however take a closer look at the forward fuselage. The sides of the canopy on your model seem to be angled inwards, right from the bottom sill, it starts to curvature at a much higher point though, th e lower sides are vertical! Take a look at these images to see what I'm talking about: http://www.airliners.net/photo/UK---Air/British-Aerospace-Hawk/1244174/L/ http://www.airliners.net/photo/UK---Air/British-Aerospace-Hawk/0982081/L/ http://www.airliners.net/photo/UK---Air/Hawker-Siddeley-Hawk/0927541/L/ [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
shaggy Posted April 21, 2009 Posted April 21, 2009 i think its correctly modelled when i look at it, maybe the nose is to wide at the front pic there which gives the aspect of that the sides curves. czarnyolek Posted January 23, 2011 Posted January 23, 2011 Sweet indeed. Will come with standard RAF colour scheme as well, or only Red Arrows one?
aaron886 Posted January 23, 2011 Posted January 23, 2011 I'm sure I've said it before, but... very nice job with that fuselage, Ripper... beautifully smooth.
RED9R1pper Posted January 23, 2011 Author Posted January 23, 2011 czarnyolek, it will hopefully come with many colour schemes...all in good time ;) I beleive RED4|LittleDog has started on the skins for last years 2010 solo display. beaker, thank you very much...i really appreciate that. :) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Pougatchev Posted January 24, 2011 Posted January 24, 2011 OMFG!!! Very nice wire, you have made a very detailed model, with, i think, a lot of work  Is this bleauty in plan to be flyable for the community? Again, Nice model! /
Airbuster Posted January 24, 2011 Posted January 24, 2011 That's one fantastic model, I really like all the small details that are modeled. Great job!
revalence Posted January 26, 2011 Posted January 26, 2011 Fantastic model! Can't wait to fly that bird! (If it were released) :D
joey45 Posted January 26, 2011 Posted January 26, 2011 Now ED, about the BAe Hawk..... The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance. "Me, the 13th Duke of Wybourne, here on the ED forums at 3 'o' clock in the morning, with my reputation. Are they mad.." https://ko-fi.com/joey45
Moa Posted January 26, 2011 Posted January 26, 2011 Superb! One of the VNAO guys (VFA143_X-Man) flies the US Navy T-45 version of the Hawk for real (although he's been selected to transition the Hornet in the next couple of months). Will be completely awesome when this model is completed! Please keep up the great work.
OldCrow Posted January 26, 2011 Posted January 26, 2011 The mod is yet only completed as an aerobatic plane with Red Arrows skins. This is used by VRA only atm, but we are considering releasing a public version later on. In this case, we'd like to include more skins and perhaps some pylons for combat use. But right now, our priorities are fucesed elsewere. [sIGPIC]http://www.virtualredarrows.com/member_sigs/vra2012_crow.png[/sIGPIC]
Moa Posted January 26, 2011 Posted January 26, 2011 OldCrow, if you don't have the manuals for the Bae Hawk I have the manuals for the T-45. This might help to get For that you are pretty much limited to gun, rockets and bombs (that's all the HUD will do).
aaron886 Posted January 26, 2011 Posted January 26, 2011 They're two entirely different aircraft. Especially if you're talking about the Charlie for weapons/employment.
