Latest Oculus v63 PTC build crashing DCS when used on Oculus Link

yep, i installed virtualdesktop today and tried with some settings recommended. my router is not very fast (1200), i ran with the same settings like with linkcable. i run a 4090 with a 7800x3d, my picture is normally very crisp and no stutters at 72fps constant, its fantastic. quality now with vd is very crappy and it stutters like hell.

im not going to change anything to run this vd setup, i was fiddling around for ages to come to my setup. im waiting for the patch. it kinda sucks, but it is what it is. you‘ll have to accept it.

You should be able to get comparable quality with VD. Many people prefer it to oculus. Make sure you follow all the setup instructions from vd and use a dedicated router connected to your PC by Ethernet. VD discord have some good support.

9800x3d - rtx5080 FE - 64Gb RAM 6000MHz - 2Tb NVME - Quest Pro (previous rift s and Pico 4). Lol. If you care to check, I raised this issue more than a month before you did. Take a look at the 7th post in this thread and check the date. So you can probably guess that I have been following this with utmost interest and know of all the workarounds, three of which I provided. My point is that there is no need to keep searching for solutions, posting misinformation etc etc. It's not helping people who come here for help to wade through all the quagmire of bluff and bluster. Plenty of workarounds exist already. ED have fixed it, it's now just a matter of waiting for the testing of the full release to be completed before it's issued to all of us - which I expect will be days not weeks away.

Okay, glad and happy you raised the issue when it first broke out.
Still highly unnecessary to ask a mod to close it because you are tired of confusion.
To state the fact that most people despite everything unless you have a full day with literally nothing to do which I'm sure the vast majority of people do not have.
They are not going to go to page 1 and go through every single thread on 20+ pages.
Normally they will go to the last few pages for the most recent updates.
Again, I don't see a point in you continuing to raise an issue with it if you are tired of seeing it.
If you have nothing positive to add or anything constructive and if it bothers you that much to keep seeing people being confused, just stop following the thread.
It's that simple.
I understand workarounds already exist, and I have aided in that for people who are coming to the last couple of pages not knowing what's going on by refereeing them to said fixes.
Something more valuable and constructive, than putting out criticism on others as you are doing.
Now if you have nothing of value to add to this conversation other than just criticizing me. I am done.
I'm here trying to help people to be able to direct them to working solutions for the time being so they can still play until ED releases the patch.
Something I suggest you do as well.
Have a good day.

Given that the patch is out next week it's not worth bothering with VD if it's going to take a lot of setup.

BigNewy announced the next DCS update is due on 3rd April. So presumably this has the oculus link fix.

The fix it will be in there, it may just shift the release date, since it's "planned" status.

How am I being rude? I've not called names. I've been nothing but polite about this matter. It's a civil discussion as far as I can see.

Openly criticizing people, being condescending saying "lol", saying "Blah Blah Blah Blah" calling for the thread to be closed meaning you're trying to silence people because you're tired of "Confusion."
Etc and so on.
Being rude doesn't just amount to calling someone a name.
You have not been civil.
I'm done speaking with you sir, have a good day.

Possible Hotfix posted by Mongoose on DCS Wingman Finder Discord:  DCS 2.9.3.51704 (ED) now launches for me with VR enabled. I have turned off Oculus Autoupdate and set Oculus VR Runtime Service to Manual Start.

Is this patch going to be applied only to the stable version or the open beta or both?
Says for the stable current.
Just curious.

I think its a mistake in the name (maybe copy and paste), current name is unified version, however we havent now beta version so we can call it anything we want, it's probably even better not to add anything to the name, just "patch for DCS" 🙂.

Good to know, apricate it.

This method works for me.

1. Using OpenXR toolkit (https://mbucchia.github.io/OpenXR-Toolkit/)
2. Using Virtual Desktop app (https://www.vrdesktop.net/)
3. DCS.exe shortcut edit ( --force_enable_VR)
3. Virtual Desktop Streaming start on PC
4. VR on and start Virtual Desktop app (not free) (https://www.meta.com/experiences/2017050365004772/).
6. Double click desktop DCS shortcut icon.

Didn't someone mention that the OpenXR toolkit, conflicts with DCS since it uses its own standalone version of OpenXR.
I mean me personally I never noticed a difference, in fact being on a AMD card.
I get way better performance by using MSAA X2 and in OpenXR Tool kit, using FSR with a 35% Sharpness. The DCS FSR version by itself makes things very blurry from my experience.
Just wondering what you think.

SteamVRruns smoother and more stable than on ED on OculusVR, but SteamVR stutters when loading DCS.

Open xr toolkit works fine. I think you might be confusing this with open composite which was a way of allowing OXRTK to work with open VR. Now that DCS runs open xr open composite is not needed.

Ah okay, yeah because I do have open composite installed.
Yeah thought as much, I get way better performance with OpenXR toolkit than I do without it.
Especially having a 7800XT

I've got oculus link working again. V63 on the headset. V62 on the PC app and this is working ok.

Just discover I have this problem now,  had updates on Automatic and now have V63 on both PC and Headset.  How did you revert to V62?
