It happened yesterday on 4YA Project Overlord server, D9 without MW50, I did proper warmup, climb, cruise from Paris, engage 51, then  RPM started fluctuating after I raised RPM from 3000 to 3250 around 8:01:41 in mission time. Temperature was fine whole time, raised just after failure, engine quit in 25s. Track is bigger than 50MB, so here is the link https://drive.google.com/file/d/1JbXpmJRTowXvQRre0oSOqb6Jr9LSepGS/view?usp=drive_link

I saw another posts here, but this happened without MW50 and without overheating engine.

Same issue happened to me, with my Sptifire in "Beware! Beware!" campaign.
Was running the engine on optimal RPM (no further than 2850) and it happened while cruising.
I was on 21.000 feet, 2650 RPM, +4 Boost when the engine just shut down out of the blue. Not even in dogfight.
In the aftermath was saying "Engine #1 Degraded".

Did you clean the spark plugs from time to time?

Oil and water temp within limits?

Proper warmup completed and oil pressure within limits?

Hey Razo+r,

Spark plugs: In the duration of 30 mins, cleaned 2 times:
a) Once after take-off
b) Once during climbing

Oil and water temp within limits.

Proper warmup, not sure as it's an "always" routine, hardcoded in my brain, but I think yes.

Interestingly, this is the first time that this has ever happened to me.

It seems that "temporary" solution is using 3000RPM for cruise not less. Fuel consumtion is huge, but engine works fine.

Yeah I get this as well in the P-47 after engaging WEP for any duration. During max continuous or cruise the RPM surges followed by an uncontrollable increase in oil temperature leading to a dead engine. The initial failure is usually listed 'Engine Degraded' at some variable time afterwards. Reminds me a lot of the old P-51 engine failure if you used WEP years ago.

Really is pretty disheartening that issues like this continue on without any proper attention given to fixing them. I’ve been flying the Dora at 3000 RPM for years now, and I don’t even bother with the 47 in its current state.

The frustrating part is that so much has been done so well, but these longstanding issues persist so long without any effort or attention given to fixing them that even the small things end up putting many off what is otherwise a great product.

I personally think the WWII stuff has the potential of being the crown jewel of the sim, if only it got more TLC.

https://www.uschovna.cz/zasilka/PFJZYAKXIUA5AVYD-EUC/  There is a track from MP server  Project Overlord. I intentionally used only 3000RPM and full throttle (without MW50), flown high speed only, checked temp all the time and never exceeded 30min limit for full power. It ended in "Engine #1 degraded" as usual, then temp skyrocketed and engline died after 1min.
