Sorry if this was asked/answered before.

I've been checking out various YT videos, but so far haven't seen damaged building footage yet.

Orbx know how to create scenery, but I assume damage models are new to them. Anyone knows about this? (Are we talking "Syria map", or rather "Caucasus map" destruction model details?)

How about general buildings? Do they have destruction models?

I've also tried asking this on Orbx Discord, but that platform is soo awful 😖 (I can't even find back my own question in between all the constant chatting there.. Let alone being able to find if it has been answered somewhere..)

I did manage to destroy some spans of the longer bridge in Murmansk (GBU-24s)

Guys, what's with the bridge fetish? 😂

 

Just kidding, very important that bridges can be blown to pieces. But how about factories, warehouses, shelters, etc.

Do they have proper damage models like Syria or Sinai map?

From what i've tried so far its standard 'collapse into the ground' stuff much like most of the other maps.  Boats catch fire but don't appear to sink.

You might need to hit them with something large.

Try say, a Su-24M with the FAB-1500M-54 or the KAB-1500s.

This was with a couple of 2000lb'ers.  From memory then static cargo ships in port in the Syria and Sinai maps would go down with just 1.

Ah ok tnx, so it seems Ugra's Syria map keeps holding the standard when it comes to destruction models then.

(As I love helo ops, these kind of details matter to me in a new map)

I wish they would split the existing dam models into multiple independent models, keep the dam itself indestructible but make elements like the turbine house destructible. Quite sad current events have shown that hydro power-plants are key targets in war.

I had success with destroying the long bridge at Murmansk. This is actually consisting of a lot of narrow spans so destroyed sections are obscured and hard to see when the bridge burns after being hit (*yawn*). The arch bridge further south on the other hand seemed indestructible.

Tried the HAS out on a friendly base and they seem to be 'sink into the ground' unfortunately.

Yeah, i'd agree it'd be good if the elements were destructible.

And yes, I noticed too that its individual sections that collapse. Although i've seen that on some bridges in other maps and it seems reasonable depending on the type of bridge.

I’ve been hitting some bridges in the last few days.  Failed to destroy them with Mavs from a Viggen and HEAT rockets from a Mirage F1.

Going to try some big boys toys tonight

 

Update:  well that's disappointing.  Dropped x2 2000lb GBU31s on a bridge, and all it did was leave a big SPLAT graphic on it.  

So much for having a bunch of missions to disrupt logistics by blowing up bridges.  Gotta laugh, as I must have several hours identifying and marking on the F10 map a bunch of juicy looking bridges.  I assume it'll happen eventually, so all is not lost.

Back to shooting up EWR sites.
