Hi,

Since the F-14 and now the F-15E and the F-4E, there are similar AI unit with really old models. I understand that just deleting them since they got different names from the new modules would break some missions but isn't it possible to just link those AI units to the new models?

It should be possible to remove entries from the unit list, while keeping the relevant files in the background in order to not break missions using them - IIRC that applied to the USS Carl Vinson.

From performance point of view, the low res models could form a solution to those with less budget (lower spec pc's).

So, why not just keep both and let the mission designers decide whether to replace the old models with newer ones.

No, don´t do that. We should keep them. Those low poly models are great to be used as objects to populate air bases or carriers without great impact on performance.

Also, it´s not just F-4, F-16 or 18 also have a low poly versions.

I think this solution would be a good one.
