First engage AFCS switch then engage Alt Hold switch.

I do, but the Alt hold switch disengages immediately.

Have a look in the special options there is a slider that alows you to modify how sensitive the pitch and roll aspects are in terms of disengaging the AFCS...

Do you havd bind controls for Alt Hold?

If I mouse click on that Alt Hold knob it always works, it stays in Engaged position. But if I bind the Alt Hold - Engage to my controller (joystick, throttle, or what ever), it disengages immediately by it self. Here is my thread I created about it.

That was indeed the problem, I increased the percentages slightly and now altitude hold works, thank you very much for your help.

Also make sure you are roughly trimmed out and have a vertical velocity of around 0

100% Perfect!

Thanks - You all solved my Problem with "Autopilot" AFCS ALT toggle switch binding would not Engage.

I did read all the AFCS, deadzone related and breakout limit text in the manual but I never thought I would need to increase a the AFCS Special Options deadzone by so much.. lol.

For me I needed to increase the AFCS Breakout Deadzone for Pitch and Roll all the way up to 6.5% for Pitch and Roll.
