Some lowlight shots, first time I've tried to put flood/decklights onto a vessel, not sure if they will stay or not, as I feel they need to feel and look "softer"

With regards to the Seadarts, Beldin had a missile configuration using the SMR2 performance, but used the Seadart model, it's accurate, it's deadly accurate, compared to what it was, detonating 4.3NM from the ship, I might just keep it even if it's less realistic, but it's operational.

Technical Points - At sea the flight deck floodlighting would probably be red light if at, or going to, flying stations with no white light anywhereb else - preserving night vision for the deck crews - only white light if no flying and the port and stbd walkways were also lit up, or they were playing deck hockey at night !!  (True - bloody silly but great fun !!)

I'm looking at those port and stbd light on the masts, I cant seem to remember there being any nav lights up there, my ancient mariner memory is a bit vague on that though. (Off to look that up just to prove myself wrong !!)

Looking nice mate, good to see you back in the frame.

Late Edit - The lights on the masts should only be either white or yellow lights, depending on what the ship is doing - there are no nav lights that high up, it could only cause confusion to other ships, ie, if you can see a green light ahead of you that ship is moving left to right, red light its moving right to left.  If youcan see a green on the left and a red on the right its coming towards you, other way around its going away from you. White light at the stern, white or possibly a red light on top of the mast. Just to add to the confusion if there are several other combinations of lights up there that could indicate any number of different things - a ship trawling nets etc etc etc etc.

I would stick to port and stbd standard lights in the usual places just under on close to the bridge, rear white light and red floodlights for the flight deck, that should  cover any eventuality !!!!

This will be nice to have in Iraq map once we get the Persian Gulf. Also, let me ask, where you got that Lynx?

I purchased it from CGTrader, it's quite detailed, and quite high poly too, but for aesthetics it works quite well.

@Oban I hope Lynx will be relaised with Destroyer to?

No intentions at the moment to do so, as it's in a much larger personal modern Helo pack that I've created.

I took inspiration from Bungo's SA assets...

Removed the Nav lights from the rear mast, and removed a couple of night time red lights on the flight deck.

The picture attached is to showcase the CIWS work well, and the night lighting has been subdued, I might make a full set of red low level lighting when the ships doing air operations.

I'm not sure the distance from the ship that the disembarking helo closes down the flight operations (fences and rails/flight deck lights)

That Leander is wrong, no nav lights above the main nav lights on any ship in any Navy, Rules of the Sea etc etc. I did look it up just to be sure. That said nobody will know one way or the otherr I dont suppose. The white light combination on it is okay though, there are many combinations of lights they can use.

The problem is its just a game and you cant model every variation on the lights theme the way the game is so go for what you prefer mate, only old bu**ers like me will notice crap like that - 🥴 - it's what I was put on this earth for Ha Ha !!

I think I'm going to bin the lights along the superstructure, as they shine through the model, into the sea, and I'm not happy with the way they look, and I don't know enough to be able to make "soft lighting" I will also revert back to what crazy eddie has said, and keep the basic Nav light system, with coloured lights on the mast, although I do believe there's a light set for launching and recovering aircraft which I may do ..

HMS York in bad weather... think I'm almost done with this Destroyer, messed around with the SeaDarts, if I use the default, they hit nothing and detonate 3-5NM from the ship.
Using Beldin's code which is basically the SMR2 with the seadart model, it's deadly..

Now......it's a big mod due to textures (1.5GB) so the ED file location isn't going to cut it, so will need to find a decent file hosting site, that's not going to cause any issues.

There was only 4 batch 42's for the Royal Navy, all represented here.
HMS Edinburgh
HMS York
HMS Manchester
HMS Gloucester

HMS Gloucester in rough seas.

Points to note, HMS Gloucester's funnel badge was an actual shield shape, but the 3 other ships in this class had a round funnel badge, also HMS Edinburgh had hers mounted on the funnel, and not on the gantries like her sister ships, but for simplicity all are the same shape and location.... I'm away to Thailand on vacation next week, so looking at pushing this out when I return, she's definately going to be released in 2024.

The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance.

I've not forgotten about this, just been a tad occupied with real life and a recent vacation back to Thailand, I have it uploaded to Megasync, there's not much more that I will do to be honest, the original script for the Sea darts had them detonating 5km away from the target, but if I use script for the SM'2..she's deadly!

Fingers crossed I should have the files back to Oban tonight.  Missiles were working well (too well actually) against multiple target types last night. 👍
