Being able to air-refuel in any position and realistic effects in the basket.

I would like exactly that, to be able to refuel any Refueller probe by requesting it from the AI operator (similar to real life) and for the basket to move according to the relative wind just as it happens in reality. I hope DCS takes note of my wishes. Thank you.

Can you clarify what you mean by "any position"?

1. If you're alone only the left basket is active on KC-135MPRS and KC-130. When the AI is involved you're supposed to get to the right basket. No comms will tell you that.

2. KC-135MPRS has only baskets available. It should also support boom AAR at the same time, as the name suggests.

yeah, even in MP, if you have two players going to the same KC-130/135, the first player to contact the tanker must take the Port basket, while the next must take the starboard. It would be nice if either:
A. the Tanker told you which basket to take

or

B. You could take either basket once they come out, and just talk with your fellow players about which basket you'll take.

That all being said, I think IRL, the order when multiple baskets are involved, is that the first one refueling takes the port, and the next one takes Starboard. Subsequent planes just take whichever basket opens up first, and the order is always who's lowest on fuel goes to the front of the line.

ED has been working (or indicated that the work is planned) on improved/realistic AAR drogue physics.

(I think it's safe to assume that includes proper damage modeling and wind/turbulence effects)

In real life you can ask the tanker why you want to enter  to refuel  regardless of what may be more orthodox, which is to enter from the port side.

Yes. Since many years in the works. Similiar to ATC, Mission Planner and DTC Features. So since around 2019? Im sure only two more weeks.🥱

I really enjoy aerial refuelling and would love to see the physics of the hose improved, and also for the animation of the drogue/probe interaction to be refined. In other words, when I'm successfully connected and taking fuel I'd like the probe to be anchored in the centre of the drogue, rather than wandering around. Is this a huge priority? No, but it would just be another nice enhancement of immersion.

And, when refuelling via the boom, more visible forward/aft lights would be nice. The up/down light is clear enough, but the forward/aft can be very hard to observe.  (This is in VR - Pimax Crystal).

Also, some uniformity on the "Cleared for Contact" would be nice. In some aircraft the positioning parameters are pretty relaxed, while in others they're annoyingly precise.
