petsild Posted August 28, 2024 Posted August 28, 2024 I have no objections to the moza hw and mechanical design, but in no review or test has the base been properly anchored, nor has the attachment been sized for proper hand holding. 1 MSI PRO Z690-A DDR4, Kingston 3600 MHz 64 Gb, i5 12600K, Gigabyte RTX 4090, Samsung SSD 970 EVO Plus,VKB NXT Premium.
Aapje Posted August 28, 2024 Posted August 28, 2024 @MAXsenna It's pretty typical for event setups to not be optimal for usage. They have other important considerations, like being able to pack things small for travel & being able to build things up and tear them down quickly. Pointing it out can be helpful to noobs who have no idea, but discussing mounting solutions would detract from actually discussing the product itself. And of course, briefly using it using an event is not at all a proper review, which takes days at the very least.

But why wouldn't he take off from ground, where he could clearly have shown a limp stick that would raise with the airflow over the wings. Why didn't he show a stall and how the stick reacts to this? DCS has those effects for the old FFB2! I guess I just have higher expectations. Shame on me! Sent from my SM-A536B using Tapatalk 1

Yes I noticed that it was wobbling all over the place. But I think they gave much thought about the mount to be honest. Aapje Posted August 28, 2024 Posted August 28, 2024 Unless we get another delay, they should actually start shipping in September. They didn't specify early/mid/late, or a date, so it's probably the 30th. At that point things should get interesting with the information we get. 1
DMouse Posted August 29, 2024 Posted August 29, 2024 I have noticed that the MOZA website now says orders will ship within 10 business days after being placed. So existing orders are starting to get shipped in the next week or two? Any thoughts anyone? 1

No, preordering means that you gamble that the company can finish their product in time, that they can deliver on their promises, that they deliver on expectations that you have that they never actually promised, etc, etc. Ultimately, companies tend to treat delivery dates more as targets than hard promises. And you never know what you will actually get, until the product is in the hands of somewhat serious reviewers/customers, who put the product through its paces. The company is never going to honestly tell you the weaknesses of their product. I already warned people here in the past to not preorder unless they were willing to gamble: That said, I'm personally of the opinion that nobody should pre-order this base if they expect any guarantees and are not willing to take a big gamble, since the information provided by Moza is utterly insufficient to be confident that it works well enough to be value for money compared to the Rhino for any use case. You did order before my warning, but there is a reason why you regularly see people warn against preorders. The preorder life is the life of a gambler. 3 hours ago, rapid said: They are yet to honour the original purchaser before they begin opening up the flood gates offering a quick turn around with their order. If I Had an email saying your item has been posted instead of "Processing" then it would be fine. This is a pretty weak complaint. If they don't ship those orders before yours, then you have nothing to complain about with regard to them encouraging others to order as well. And those people only have a reason to complain if they don't ship their base in 10 days. We have no idea what their internal logistics are. For all we know, they already have a lot of units ready to go, and are waiting for the software to be good enough before they ship out the hardware. Edited August 30, 2024 by Aapje 3

People think that somehow "preorder" has some kind of status for a customer No, it helps manufacturers, to estimate how much units need to be initially produced, diminishing the risk of overproduction and having to discount prices since goods are warming the shelves Intel I5 13600k / AsRock Z790 Steel Legend / MSI 4080s 16G Gaming X Slim / Kingston Fury DDR5 5600 64Gb / Adata 960 Max / HP Reverb G2 v2 Rhino FFB / Virpil MT50 Mongoost T50 Throttle, T50cm Grip, VFX Grip, ACE Rudder / WinWing Orion2 Navy, UFC&HUD, PTO2, 2x MFD1, PFP7 / Logitech Flight Panel / VKB SEM V / 2x DIY Bodnar Button Panels

Aapje Posted August 30, 2024 Posted August 30, 2024 @Nightdare That's not entirely true. There are people who want the new thing first. Preorders cater to them in particular. I'm fine with that, aside from the fact that these people very often have unreasonably high expectations. But I guess that fits with their desire to get the new thing first. @rapid No one asked you to retract anything. I'm not even sure who you are addressing. 1
rapid Posted August 30, 2024 Posted August 30, 2024 No problem here. Just posting in a forum about something which I think we are all interested in and the sooner it arrives the better. There are other companies getting ready to release theirs too so its all good. Monza is just one of the first out of the bunch to release theirs first and I suppose the expectation is a little high. I wish I never threw my Sidewinder out now. 1 Asus ROG Crosshair Hero VIII , Ryzen 3900X, Nzxt Kraken Z73, Vengence RBG Pro DDR4 3600mhz 32 GB, 2x Corsair MP 600 pcie4 M.2 2 TB , 2x Samsung Qvo SSD 2x TB, RTX 3090 FE, EVGA PSU 800watt, Steelseries Apex Pro. rapid Posted September 3, 2024 Posted September 3, 2024 Had an email from Moza that my order has been shipped.....Your order has shipped! Thank you for choosing MOZA Racing, please don’t hesitate to get in touch regarding your order. But on closer inspection it turns out to be the Table clamp which I ordered on 21 August. Aapje Posted September 3, 2024 Posted September 3, 2024 LOL, I hope you enjoy your empty clamp. Seriously though, I don't get why they didn't wait to ship it with the base, which they promised would ship any day now. But perhaps there is another delay. 1
