Hi Yall

Sorry for the rant but had to get it off my chest.

The joystick works fine in windows and from what i can see everything works in BS apart from the collective i can see no way to assign it to the throttle lever,i am running BS v1 and have no other controllers connected to pc other than keyboard and mouse.

Any constructive help please:joystick:.

It's perfectly legitimate to assume rookies may missed some dedicated forum sub-sub-section, especially judging from the bunch of recent posts here. From all that in my post you got only the "condecending" part? :) I mentioned the GUI manual because it's easier to establish an exact step a user got stuck in when user directly follows a known procedure. I speak from experience. Go ahead and search through that topic and ask yourself if my goal is only to drop "condecending" remarks to rookies.

Well it would have been nice to put the link to the Siatek site you put in your last post IN your first post,i could have been trying their solution out some time ago.

Sorry for the long delay but work comes first.

I must thank Bucici for his link to sort out my controller.

I have had my first two flights in the training mission an the first one was very wobbly, the second one was better but i still crashed on the homeward leg just could not get the altitude up and went down gracefully, will try to post a track if anyone is interested and has any hints where i went wrong>

Ok, not a rookie, but I'm finding no info on TOW missile in the pedia and range and max altitude would be great. Also, the Kh-25 says short range but range in pedia is 21 km??? What is the correct range on the Kh-25? Not boosted or anything. Oh, and newbies, be advised the Kh-25 is not to be fired with rudder input. Fore'arned is for'armed..

10km. In-SIM anywhere to 14km from a hover.

Hi,

I like to fly the helicopter with the roll/pitch/heading channels off. Is this normal? It seems easier to me because I can easily see the effects my inputs are having.

in this mode do I still need to hold the trimmer through any manoeuvring?

Sorry if the info is already in this thread, I got to page 25 but must sleep at some point!

Thanks Bp76

You're flying it wrong. All three channels should be on. Get used to flying with the autopilot influence and read and understand how the trim and stabilization channels work together. It should all be in the manual.

I'd like to disagree with GGTharos and claim that there's no "right" or "wrong". While the AP Channels dampening functionality may give you quite an advantage, it kind of seperates the pilot from the frame (as it is with all dampening systems). But there are plenty of threads in the forums that deal with the AP, so go search and read ;)

Just fly the way you find the easiest.

The trimer is independent from the AP system, hence you should use it normally (i.e. frequently).

In this instance there is definitely a 'wrong' :D

Never ever switch the Pitch, Bank and Lateral dampeners off - a sure way to kill yourself. It's like attempting to ride a drunk Hippopotamus. If you are at first struggling with the AP quirks then toggle the Flight Director on - that will sort that out.

In aviation - there is. In math and all of the technical branches - there is. In a sim that is a replication of RL operation - there is as well. Especially in a Rookie Thread.

OK thanks for nudging me in the right direction I will try and perceiver with those modes on.

I must say I find the manoeuvrability much more satisfactory without them. From a stable hover at a reasonable altitude you can make the thing tumble like a dice, which is quite effective at dodging incoming.

A bit of manual reading has revealed that turning off the AP channels is not quite the life /death or right/ wrong decision that has been described in the previous few posts!

Page 10-3 says you can do it if you need to, but it is not the normal mode of operations, I guess Luigi and myself are steely eyed bold young chopper pilots. Hopefully we will come round with experience- and maybe live to be older (but less bolder).

Turning them off is an emergency procedure - as in do not do it unless you have equipment failure.

how can i change delay when inputs are ignored after trim release (center trim method box is unticked) i feel like this duration = 0

I want to make game to ignore inputs for about 3 sec after trim release

Also i want to separate ruders from trim

I have ruders and no FFB joy, so center trim method isnt comfortable to me bcoz im always forget to center ruders what leads to ignored joy input until i remember to center ruders AND joy AGAIN cuz i moved joy after first center (witout rudders). So i want game to ignore inputs for 3 seconds to give me chance to center all, and then force input back in, even if controlls are not centered (if it ll be only rudders - its not very bad)

Sorry for my english.

Also sorry for posting same post in 2 threads, im just want to know it NOW =D

You have to save a track intentionally from the debriefing screen, there is no automatic track saving. If you don't change the default destination folder, you should find them in your "Saved Games\BlackShark 2\Tracks" folder (Win7).
