Long stick - floor based joystick - options?

I am starting my research.  Can anyone please provide the options that know of?

That’s partly going to depend on the seat you use and how high that is.

I believe that Virpil, WW and VKB sell 20cm extensions, but that is clearly not long enough to reach from the floor for most chairs.

The only others that I vaguely remember are full on systems for helicopters and similar, which are a lot more expansive.

Another point for consideration is the available deflection on the base you use.  Virpil doesn’t recommend the use of their Warbird base with an extension partly because it’s available deflection with a long extension is potentially so wide that the grip would hit your legs.

THIS. Absolutely.

With my DIY 30 cm extension and Warthog base mounted roughly halfway between floor and seat, that's already max length I could get away with - full roll input just bumps into my legs while full pitch input requires extending arm almost to the point of slightly leaning forward.

Standard joystick bases just have much bigger deflection angles than real aircraft control sticks and columns (in warthog it's +/- 20 degrees all around I think?). Thus, research first what these angles are on various currently available joysticks (or if you can at least physically limit them somehow) and calculate what pitch and roll throw you're going to get with floor + long extension setup.

I bought from zalem a vertical pedestal out of alu extrusion profile, which runs from the top of my desk, till the floor. It's about 900mm long. 

Two rubber bumpers go against the floor,and a quick release bracket holds against the desk. 

Then I can move my stick base to the height that better fits my current setup, with the chair. 

It was about 120e unless I'm mistaken. 

I also attached ww icp, ww ufc and 3 cougar mfds to that.

Thanks guys - rather than modding our current short arm joysticks, I was thinking more in line of a ‘normal’ length joystick, floor based, available as retail product with the appropriate deflection range.

I believe the other reason is because the WRBRD springs aren't strong enough to center the weight on full (20cm) extensions

There is also available one which is shorter, missing the lower part where the pedestal rests at floor level. Slighty cheaper too.
Zalem business is from my own country, Spain, so very convenient for low shipping fares. Customer support is quite good too.

Easy to add 3 MFD supports, and the Winwing Hornet UFC and Viper ICP modules. I also attached a USB hub, and bass shaker.
Very happy with the investment. Once I am done flying, I just loose the bracket, and place the pedestal by the right side of my table, to use my computer for regular desktop usage.
