LimePartician Posted July 4, 2024 Posted July 4, 2024 Simple as that, it will avoid community rage and a number of other things.
upyr1 Posted July 4, 2024 Posted July 4, 2024 Simply releasing the updates, without announcing them would anger the community as well, as there will inevitably be someone firing up DCS to do quick flight who gets upset becuse of a surprise update. so I think you should change the title to "Instead of delaying, just announce the updates when they are ready." I understand the need for an ETA as it enables people to plan their DCS activities, 4
Kang Posted July 4, 2024 Posted July 4, 2024 I'd assume that the 'when they are ready' part is the exact reason for delays. 2

draconus Posted July 5, 2024 Posted July 5, 2024 "just release the updates when they are ready" - that's exactly what they do. When found "not ready" there's a delay. 4 Win10 i7-10700KF 32GB RTX4070S Quest 3 T16000M VPC CDT-VMAX TFRP FC3 F-14A/B F-15E CA SC NTTR PG Syria
Dragon1-1 Posted July 7, 2024 Posted July 7, 2024 I think the suggestion is "don't announce release dates", but they're already announced on a short notice, and not doing that at all would be annoying, too, particularly for people who don't have a fast internet connection that can download a 100GB patch in a few minutes (which is a lot of people around the world, particularly outside major cities). 1
Jackjack171 Posted July 7, 2024 Posted July 7, 2024 Bottom line up front: You cannot please everyone, nor should you try! IMHO, ED does all that they can but there will ALWAYS be those that can and will find a way to complain. 3 DO it or Don't, but don't cry about it. Real men don't cry!
