While I haven't had the chance yet to check in-game (my PC spent the last hour and a half downloading the 272GB patch + map), I was pleasantly surprised reading this.

I'm getting alot of shimmering, like anti aliasing or dancing ants type graphics form the new graphics. Is there anything I can do to make it look better? I don't get this type effect with any other DCS aircraft skins.

It seems that they didn't used the proper export for the skins and they are not compatible with MSAA

Yup I had that as well: massive shimmering on the edges of every panel.

Some user-made liveries have that problem as well.

Using any type of AA should fix that. I’m using MSAA x2 myself (I don’t like how TAA is implemented currently).

Yes, there's been an issue with MSAA since several patches ago and I've seen it manifested in other modules and even terrains.  It's just that it seems to be much worse in the Mirage F1.

This only happens to me with the new Mirage F1 update. I have not seen this so bad before.

I don't have Mirage F1. I solved the shimmering problem in my liveries with mipmap. I think this is related to this. But if you have photoshop and dds plugin, you can re-export your own DDSs with mipmap.

Here you go.

I re-exported only first part of fuselage with mipmaps. Shimmering is gone.

Developers should generate mipmaps for all textures.

If it's possible, could you try the same with the cockpit textures? I have that shimmering issue something awful in VR in the cockpit and I'm curious to see if it's solved.

Hi,

 

there is a problem, when I export with mipmaps, when you zoom out suddenlly the texture is blur and the texture is 8K. I have to zoom in to get better texture.

If you own an nVidia card you can force CLAMP for all textures as shown in this screengrab, I enforce it globally for all games I play since the image quality is so much better than the default ALLOW setting.

Hello,

This is odd. I don't have this issue, did you check in game? The computer you are using modelviewer on is probably a work computer. Maybe Modelviewer's graphics settings are low.
