Just to say that I also lost my J-11 on top of the FC3 loop.

It does not get recognised in the encylopedia (background only shows).

If I insert it in a mission it will not spawn.

Will wait for the fix. Don't want to have to go through setting up all the FC3 aircraft.

@BIGNEWY

HI sorry to ping you but do you have an ETA on when this will be fixed with a hotfix, a lot of users are in the same position and cant use the modules we paid for, I have now missed some squad missions because I could not fly the A10A.

Hello, sorry for the issues,

A fix has already been made for FC3 auth issues.

You need to install the individual aircraft and licences have been issued for them, please ignore the FC3 pack install for now and go for individual ones.

The team is working on tidying up the process, and FC3 pack will become legacy product, replaced by the individual aircraft and the optional upgrade to FC2024.

If you are a steam user linked to stand alone DCS dont forget to go to the DCS account page on our website and in the steam link area hit the get licences button again.

If you continue to have issues please contact support directly.

thank you

When you say install the planes separately is this from the module manager in game, or do I need to get the from the ED store, im a tad confused here.

In the module manager it says I have all the 5 FC planes installed, yet in the mission editor none of them are in Yellow (available to me) so i cant use them.

This you describe above process does not seem easy to me.

In the module manager, go there and install the individual ones, not the FC3 pack.

Send me the mission you are having issues with in the editor I will check it

@BIGNEWY

I dont see any FC3 Pack just individual FC3 planes, and in the mission editor it only shows me the FC3 A10A and F15C the other ones are missing, if I add the A10A and F15C they are greyed out and I cant use them, I can only use anything showing as yellow.

And in the store I only have a license for DCS Flaming Cliffs, no individual FC3 planes

I think the problem is that your testers didn't test the situation when someone didn't want to purchase FC 2024, but wanted to continue their use of FC3 (I hope they still have the right to use FC3). Now we see the result. But the problems are not on the users end - it's the DCS authorization bug (if the users can continue to use FC3 then DCS should recognize FC3 correctly and allow to use it as it was before). So, instead of making users to do some additional steps, you (ED) should issue a patch which would solve this problem. If you decided to separate the FC3 planes and make them individual (it's your decision, not the user's) - do it within the patch, this should be invisible for the end users, and should not require any additional actions from them (uninstall, transfer licence, reinstall, remap all the controls for all the aircraft... - not funny at all!).

I'm not a steam user and I wanted to add some new aircraft to my FC3, but I don't want to go through this curvy path (I want to ADD something, preserving the aircraft and mappings that I already have, NOT to REINSTALL everything), so I'll wait until you have more appropriate and acceptable solution.

It is more complicated than that but it has been a pain for sure.

Basically the FC3 pack needed to be set to legacy and the individual aircraft should have worked without issue, but complications with authentication happened which are now resolved.

But we still have a situation where some FC3 owners were not being authorised due to older codes being used or issues with the steam API if they had linked to stand alone.

Also in some cases there was a mix of steam purchased and eshop purchased modules which complicated the auth issue for the optional upgrade.

If you are still having issues please make a support ticket they will check the licences.

But most people now can download the individual aircraft from FC3 and continue as normal.

thank you

I still don't really understand what to do. I removed the FC3 planes one at a time. Ok, I don't have a question about authorization now at beginning.

BUT the problem is that I dont see separate planes for download apart Su-33 (?) and 6 files in Available section but without info.

Any idea? I havent Steam version.

I have only the Steam version of DCS World, and bought FC3 from Steam some years ago.  I now want to upgrade to FC4 for the offer price of £8 (or so) which is available to me as expected on the Steam store.

My question is: If I simply buy the FC4 upgrade now, will all the aircraft, both the originals and the new FC F86, MiG15 and F5, be available and fully working?

Or are we still awaiting bug fixes?  Is it best to wait?

I get the impression from various posts that all seems to be OK if you are simply upgrading to FC4 from FC3, and if you have never combined Steam and stand-alone versions of DCS in any way.

But I want to be sure before I buy it rather than end up with any hassles like re-installing, re-doing key binds etc!

I also would like to get a clear understanding of whether purchasing the new FC 2024 would resolve this issue. The new version is currently on sale as part of the summer sale. So with new features & enhancements, it might be worth it.

But not looking to get into any deeper trouble by mixing in a purchase into this incident.

Well, it will "fix" the issue, while uninstalling the individual modules through the launcher, and then installing them again should fix the issue.
The upgrade is not part of the sale. The upgrade discount will be available threw July.
Cheers!

thanks for the reply, but not quite sure I’m following you on this. Where is the ‘upgrade discount’ located for purchase?

BTW, I’m working with a regular EShop purchased version.

thanks,

All of the individual FC3 aircraft state that I have to "Buy" them in the Module Manager. I deleted the jets when the authorization issue popped up so I'm not sure how to redownload the individual aircraft without repurchasing them.

Go to the EShop, and look under Bundles. Took me a while to figure that one out.

You just enable/install them in the launcher.

For those of us who have the F-15C FC3 issue (not able to launch after the update to FC2024), the fix is as follows:

Look in your saved games/dcs.openbeta/Mods/Aircraft folder, and either delete, move or rename the Flaming Cliffs folder.

I ended up, after repairing, deleting, reinstalling individual FC2024 aircraft, doing this (I moved the folder) and lo and behold, my F-15C was able to launch once again.

Hi Max,

would you have any insights as to how, if possible, one would go about un-installing FC3? Might be considering FC2024 at the sale price, but thinking it might be ‘an abundance of caution’ by removing FC3 and avoiding all this current craziness with FC3 & DCS V2.9.6 upgrade.

Bear in mind, I can’t do it thru the Module Manager, as FC3 doesn’t show there as an installed module (part of the V2.9.6 upgrade fiasco)

I see all the aircraft in the module files but the installation never finishes.

Ok. That's not good. What happens if you uninstall. Do a "verify" (repair) of DCS in the Steam launcher, and then try to install again?
