Beirut Posted July 12, 2024 Posted July 12, 2024 Seems to be in several planes, but in the F-86 it actually says "mirror" on the mirror. Except it says it backwards. So you have to hold a mirror to the mirror to see "mirror" properly. Really. 1 Some of the planes, but all of the maps!
Flappie Posted July 12, 2024 Posted July 12, 2024 In DCS ST, the mirrors are dysfunctional, but I still don't see word "mirror" printed on it. I'll report ST mirrors for all aircraft. Please try DCS MT. ---
Flappie Posted July 12, 2024 Posted July 12, 2024 (edited) @Beirut The bug you spotted was spotted (and fixed) in an internal build a few weeks ago, but so far I cannot reproduce it in Release. Can you please attach your options.lua (from Saved Games/DCS.../Config) and dcs.log (from Saved Games/DCS.../Logs) ? Provide a track as well. Maybe the problem comes from a set of liveries. Beirut Posted July 12, 2024 Author Posted July 12, 2024 Posted this in another thread. Pic below was in the Harrier was from an hour ago. I'll grab a pic of the F-86 as well. I'll PM you the info when I get back. Gotta run. 1 1 Some of the planes, but all of the maps!

Sent you the lua file but I don't know how to do the track file. This is the F-86 mirror pic. 1 Some of the planes, but all of the maps!
JuiceIsLoose Posted July 26, 2024 Posted July 26, 2024 A guy in my squadron is running into this same issue. The mirror is not rendering/displaying. He is looking straight "through" the mirror and seeing the nuts/bolts behind the mirror. Similiar to what Beirut posted above. He is using STEAM, ST, and is using VR.
Flappie Posted July 26, 2024 Posted July 26, 2024 Yes, this is a DCS ST bug, and it's reported. If he uses MT, he shouldn't have any issue with the mirrors. ---
lipas70 Posted August 2, 2024 Posted August 2, 2024 In MT is the same. Only F-86. W10 64bit, i9 9900K, 64GB RAM, GTX 1070Ti, 27" FullHD monitor
Flappie Posted August 2, 2024 Posted August 2, 2024 (edited) That is the exact issue @Beirut is having, but I cannot reproduce it so far. Can you do what follows, please? reproduce the issue, exit the mission and hit the Save Track button, then save the track exit DCS, attach your dcs.log file here (from Saved Games/DCS.../Logs, it may appear as just "dcs") attach your track here as well Edited August 2, 2024 by Flappie ---
lipas70 Posted August 3, 2024 Posted August 3, 2024 I'll try tonight or tomorrow W10 64bit, i9 9900K, 64GB RAM, GTX 1070Ti, 27" FullHD monitor

lipas70 Posted August 4, 2024 Posted August 4, 2024 This problem also occurs in 2D. Not only in VR. I just noticed that. W10 64bit, i9 9900K, 64GB RAM, GTX 1070Ti, 27" FullHD monitor
Flappie Posted August 4, 2024 Posted August 4, 2024 I tried your track and I'm still unable to reproduce the issue. I think it's something in your "Saved Games/DCS..." folder. Do you have custom F-86 liveries in "Saved Games/DCS.../Liveries", or a "Saved Games/DCS.../Mods/aircraft/F-86F" folder? ---
lipas70 Posted August 5, 2024 Posted August 5, 2024 Problem solved after complete reinstall of DCS. W10 64bit, i9 9900K, 64GB RAM, GTX 1070Ti, 27" FullHD monitor
Flappie Posted August 5, 2024 Posted August 5, 2024 Thanks for your feedback. @Beirut If you're still having this issue, please try to uninstall the F-86 module, then go to DCS World/Mods/aircraft/ and ensure the folder called "F-86F" is gone. Then reinstall the module. ---

Harrier, Hornet, and more. if it's of use, I'll burn through them all later and let you know which. Some of the planes, but all of the maps!

Then reinstall the module. Oh, you're going to love this... I delete the F-86 on Steam. I also delete a mod "RCAF cockpit gray". (I didn't do that before because you didn't tell me to and because I'm just not that bright.) I reinstall, no mod, and I have a regular mirror. I load the mod, and the mirror goes back to the blue colour with "mirror" written backwards on it. I do this a few times - yes mod, no mod - and it would seem the mod is the culprit. Then I load the Harrier - no F-86 cockpit mod installed - and the mirrors are still borked. Then I go back to the F-86 - still no cockpit mod - and now they are borked again, but this time no blue colour with "mirror" written backwards - just borked in the same way many other mirrors are, a kind of low poly B&W shmush. So they worked for a few minutes and now they don't. I hope you get paid a lot for this. 1 1 Some of the planes, but all of the maps!
Solution Flappie Posted August 5, 2024 Solution Posted August 5, 2024 23 minutes ago, Beirut said: I hope you get paid a lot for this. Actually, I don't. It's only a hobby! Thanks for sharing the results of your investigation. When the mod is disabled, if you keep seeing borked mirrors (for all aircraft), it simply means you are running DCS ST. In Steam, it seems like the desktop icons got inverted at some point. Try the shortcut which does NOT mention "multi-thread preview" and you should get MT, thus no mirror bug. 2 ---

I'll check. Thanks. Some of the planes, but all of the maps!

Volator Posted September 2, 2024 Posted September 2, 2024 (edited) Same problem for me in DCS MT with a cockpit mod (black RCAF panel). With the default panel everything is fine... Same problem appears in the Su-33 and J-11, but not in the Su-25A/T and Su-27 with cockpit mods (Devrim's very nice English cockpit mods for Soviet FC3 aircraft)... When you launch through Steam, does it start the new Launcher, which is notorious for turning off the mirrors in the general settings? 1
