What are the good parts of the map to see as of initial release?

Looking around S/W part of the map that I thought is close to finished, but apparently not. Camp Bastion is WIP etc.

So which parts of the map are good to take a look now in a helicopter? Thanks!

Seems like it's mostly the area around Lashkargah. If you stray to in any direction you encounter low quality textures.

Probably some of the other towns of some size is OK.

If you want to fly some nice terrain or hit targets moving down the roads, make you way up the Hellmand River north of the junction with the Tarin river past where FOB Coyote was located IRL. Cool bridges and villages, steep valleys and awesome choke points for vehicles. Or fly from the Junction of the rivers down to Tarin Kot past Deh Rawod great low level flying.

A example of what you can create, Some screens of the FOB Hadrian and FOB Coyote that I have place on our Squadrons server environment to allow us to run missions in that part of the Map.

Is this something you are going to release to the community?

It’s freaking awesome, good job 👏

Yes I’m still working through a few more, then I can release them as a combined template. I have to take some licence for MP performance and also terrain considerations but they are reasonably accurate size and locations. Just need an ISR Ballon model for Hadrian!

Thanks for this, just shame that this area is heavily unfinished, but yes if it was done in a nice detail like Marianas map it would for sure be my favorite spot in Afghanistan...

I tried to find a nice place to do some CAS. Placing some vehicles at various places on the map. In villages and towns. And after 10 minutes of doing this I found 1 place that looked nice.

There were other places. But they had airfields. And so feel kinda odd taking off from one air field to drop bombs right next to another airfield.

Those places that didn't have airfields were some buildings or towns. In decent quality, but surrounded by terrible flat low quality textures.

This is the static template for my FOB's of significance in the Hellmand Provence. (you need to add your own units it's structures and statics only)

I'm sure it will get better over time, it's EA after all. I actually think it's quite well done, having spent many hours over this terrain IRL, maybe lacks some of the dramatic rise and sharpness of the mountains but it has the feel.

I'm guessing the FOB north of Hadrian is Coyote? What's the name of the FOB southeast of Dwyer?

That would be FOB Rhino, the first major foothold  on the road to Kandahar

Thanks. Those were the only two not named in the template. I managed to locate Coyote from a document referencing it being north of a town, but couldn’t find anything down in the Dwyer area on Google.
