Hawke81 Posted July 16, 2024 Posted July 16, 2024 Anyone experienced the sim crashing to the desktop while loading. Blue bar gets to about 90% and the game goes back to the desktop. Worked fine last night and haven't installed or changed anything. Since yesterday I'm getting the same issue. Seems to be openxr_loader.dll and VCRUNTIME140.dll. It's not just causing CTD's in just DCS either, my other SIM is having the same issue. Thought it might be the meta update but still figuring it out.

Yeah definitely having issues with both my Sims CTD. When I launched meta it had logged me out and then updated which has never happend before. Might try rolling back to see if that has stops the issue OK so unsubscribed to the beta test channel and DCS now loads.

Flappie Posted July 17, 2024 Posted July 17, 2024 @markturner1960 If you are using an Oculus gear, either try and disable the OpenXR Toolkit, or unsubscribe from Oculus beta program. ---

DCoffey Posted July 20, 2024 Posted July 20, 2024 disabling my onboard GPU via device manager solved my issue, new version may have some issue picking which card to use.

Nothing new, but I'm not sure it's about DCS. DirectX chooses the card. It usually happens when Windows is configured with balanced GPU power. Thanks for your feedback. 1 ---
Solution markturner1960 Posted July 22, 2024 Author Solution Posted July 22, 2024 OK, for those interested, I have managed to regain DCS in MT mode and pretty much the performance I had before. Following various suggestions here, ( thanks all) I removed myself from tehe Beta, which made my Meta software update and install new drivers. I removed and re installed QVFR and used the sandbox code .dll fix. Once this was done, DCS starts OK in MT and I am back with performance from before...happy bunny! Thanks for the advice. 2 System specs: PC1 :Scan 3XS Ryzen 5900X, 64GB Corsair veng DDR4 3600, EVGA GTX 3090 Win 10, Quest Pro, Samsung Odyssey G9 Neo monitor.
