"...if you take off without adjusting the trim,..."

But you know if you take off from a carrier, TRIM Reset is not enought, you have to adjust the trim to your takeoff weight, resulting in trim setting somewhere between 16 ad 19?...

On the carrier you trimm for take-off according to aircraft weight. And it's not 12 deg, like on an airfield.

<45,000 lbs = 16º Trim

45,000 lbs to 48,000 lbs = 17º Trim

>48,000 lbs and above = 19º Trim.

About carrier ops: "The younger pilots are still quite capable of holding their heads forward against the forces. The older ones have been doing this too long and know better; sore necks make for poor sleep.'

I usually don't bother to set trim vs weight. Every once in a while on the carrier I get a popup that says trim needs to be adjusted. I just keep adding trim until the popup goes away.
