So I was just thinking about it, and I don't think I've ever seen a missile on the radar in the F-16. My question is, why not? From a physics point of view, it should be totally possible, missiles are also big metal objects that reflect radar so...

True, I have seen cruise missiles. But never A/A missiles.

Most aircraft can detect missiles, F-16 included. AA missiles have lower RCS and are less likely to be detected. You can sometimes lock your own in dogfight mode I believe.

Yep For testing purposes, I have locked vikher Missile in ACM mode

I've shot down my own Sparrow with another Sparrow in my F14.

You you can definitely lock on to air to air missiles under the right circumstances.

I'm not talking about the F-14 though, the radars are modeled differently.
