It is not working with DCS.

It has been reported on the Track IR forums. I just re-installed 5.5.0, and it works fine again. If anyone has updated to 5.5.1, and it IS working, then comment below 👌

The NP forum said to update the games list. Did you try that?

For me, neither 5.5.0 not 5.5.1 works. Track IR software stops tracking if i update the software.

Same here, no detection of my track hat on my TrackIR 4 when using 5.5.x (it's not a DCS issue, it's general). Reverting to 5.4.2 and all works fine again.

Same here, TrackIR 5.5.1 wasn`t working on DCS (even with game update). Version 5.5.0 worked but i reversed to 5.4.2 because it was smoother.

I had the same problem.

Simple said: Its important to unplug the USB-Camera first before you install the new Version.

1. Deinstall the current Version

2. Unplug the USB-Camera

3. Install the new Version as Administrator

4. Replug the USB-Camera

5. Load your specific profile, if necessary

I hope this helps. For me, it did.

I went ahead and installed 5.5.1. Worked fine for me. Steps I took:

  1. Unplug USB cable from PC.
  2. Install 5.5.1 (straight over 5.4.2).
  3. Reinsert USB cable.
  4. Started TrackIR software: Working. All previous settings were retained.
  5. Started DCS: Flew some helos. Working fine.
     

Edit: I am using TrackIR 5. Might not work for TrackIR 4 since the download website says:

  • Requires TrackIR 5 Series hardware or newer
  • Windows 10 or newer

Unplugging USB didn't cut it for me (TrackIR 4). Still no detection of my Track hat with 5.5.1.
Reverted back to 5.4.2.

This method has now worked for me. It seems the difference, for me at least, was to un-install 5.5.0, then clean install 5.5.1. It seems that applying 5.5.1 over 5.5.0 causes it not to work with DCS. Thanks @Markus77 👌

After reinstalling per this instructions it works again

For those who got it solved:

What version of TrackIr are you using (4, 5 or even earlier hardware)? 

I can't get my TrackIR 4 working under any 5.5.x version (5.4.x works fine).

Yeah, v5.5.X probably isn't working with TrackIR 4 since the download website says:

  • Requires TrackIR 5 Series hardware or newer
  • Windows 10 or newer
     

(I am using TrackIR 5)

This worked for me too.

I still had the TrackIR 5.5.1.exe application in my Download folder, so opening it brought up the Uninstall option. I did this. Then used the same 5.5.1.exe in my Download folder to reinstall it. I also restarted my PC.

That's recently added then because i mentioned on their forum that i couldn't get the 4 to see the trackhat with 5.5.x but the official support dude from NaturalPoint who replied to my question a fewtimes never mentioned that a TIR4 would not work with 5.5.x.

So... TrackIR 5 OR NEWER? Something in the pipeline?

Concur!

5.5.0.137 works fine, anything above does not!
