MGRS and VR

Hi Baltic

 

Please for the sake of VR users keep the coordinates somewhere on the screen. We cant scribble them anywhere and it is very annoying to jump back and forth in message history. I have an exact ICP replica but still I'm not able to enter the data online with the text because MGRS is much more tricky.

Hi man, same problem of you but you can always ask to repeat. Usually two times works fine to me...but even three times I am pretty sure that they will say it again and again. No need to go to message history I guess

Can i suggest Openkneeboard?

I use it for my VR flying with a pen tablet (wacom), and 1) you can have radio history log page automatically generated by the program, 2) you can see the mission kneeboard (or use custome kneeboards)..3) if you have a pen tablet you can write it down while you are talked on the radio.

I second this.  Got a cheap tablet and using openkneeboard is a force multiplier- definitely recommend!

I use OpenKneeboard and it works great. The VR users are the main reason why you always have the option to ask for the message to be repeated, which is - from the point of view of making the mission - much more time consuming to incorporate, but I just think floating coordinates are completely immersion - killing

I can recommend Openkneeboard as well as I actually started using it for this campaign. I keep one kneeboard on the "Radio log" page (which is the message history tab from the pause menu) and the other for the mission images. With the radio log kneeboard open, I can very easily look down at my knee to read the 9 Line and then back up the ICP to input the coordinates.

I also use VR.

I have two actual, physical kneeboards strapped to my knees, which cost me under $10 to make. I can't recommend it highly enough. Incredibly useful, even in VR.

I'll admit, though, that I hit pause, went into the message log, and copied everything down. Then I hit active pause while I figured out how to enter in MGRS. Got it eventually
