very nice... somehow it doesn't look like a dcs/LO engine...

where did you find the pics???

The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance.

If only someone would make a study sim of the harrier. I can't understand it - I'm sure it would be such a popular aircraft. The mission possibilities are fantastic - play it like a traditional jet from a runway or do it all dispersed like a helicopter [sigh]. I can only hope I live long enough to see it! :)

Doing the flight model would make you go insane.....

I hope it is allowed to post this here.

Jet Thunder will simulate British Harriers in the Falklands War:

I hope the two sims will complement each other with DCS allowing me to extend my interest in helicopters and JT finally giving me the chance to VTOL in a Harrier on a carrier.

Unsure what the modelling difficulties are for simulating the harrier, it can't be more difficult than simulating a helicopter? Maybe someone can elaborate. But the flight sim community would certainly welcome a ground attack Harrier.

Politics aside, a Falklands war flight sim would have been excellent, and maybe answered a few what ifs such as if the Argentinians also had access to sidewinder missiles. Or if the American's had refused to supply them to the British. I wonder how much data is out there for the old Harriers to be accurately modeled?

Anyhow, I'm happy with Russian aircraft, maybe the Russian developers could model the Forger VTOL aircraft.

There was a harrier model at some point; ED will model aircraft they get contracts for.

There will be 3rd party mod tools eventually for those aircraft that ED is not taking on.

Edit: IN addition, AFAIK, there's no data available to model a Harrier II or GR 7/9 - nothing on HUD modes, sensors, or anything.

I used to play flight sims like you, but then I took a slammer to the knee - Yoda

Like that was gonna happen. We're not called cousins for nothin'

From what I've read/watched the US gov't was trying to prevent a war.

But the Flk's Harrier would be good.

Thanks for the replies, its a shame there's not a lot of data out there even on the old Harriers. Maybe DCS can have a chat with BAC (formerly Hawker Siddeley) to see if they would release details of the now obsolete GR3. The promotion can only help Hawkers their sales.

I've got to add, the developers have done a great job with the Ka-50.

A simulation of the Ka-25 Hormone anti-submarine heli would would be fun in a naval setting.

Sometime, I'm going to have to check out your modeling kit if its available yet.

Although it would be interesting, I can think of a ton of helicopters I'd rather fly first. Hovering over the sea for hours aint that much fun if you ask me.
