Stuttering issue

Done tons of OS and NVIDIA testing, various settings, tips from support  .... ALL in vain.

Every time i start DCS i have to manually switch off core 8 in taskmanager details

Last reply from support was "the devs consider it fixed".     NOPE, NOT, NADA!

=================================================================

By now i am open for any possible fixes, the last DCS that worked fine for me was 2.9.8.1107.

Just finished installing windows 11 pro, and the latest DCS 2.9.9.2280

Makes no difference. All other simstuff like MSS2022, IL2 Great Battles, runs fine.

not sure that this would cause stuttering. you have this in the log.

2024-11-03 16:20:53.591 ERROR   ASYNCNET (7648): HTTP request https://stat.digitalcombatsimulator.com/gameapi/stats4 failed with error 35: SSL connect error

also in logs

try without pausing any cores

Hi @jackd I am not sure that the following is applied on your system:

I thought that I have done my CPU unpack once for every time when I power on my system.  Actually not... (please see the following ParkControl screenshot):

image.png

So, I have to click "off" of "Parking" and apply to unpack all CPUs again (I have reported this issue to Bitsum if the the saved setting can be enforced for every boot up).

I have not updated this finding in my thread (sorry) because I thought the CPU unpack message in dcs.log is only appeared my DCS only...

I have tested with "off" in the "Parking" with the value 100% first, then launch my DCS, the message "CPU HAS PARKED LOGICAL CORES.."  is no longer shown in my dcs.log.

However, I still set CPU affinity for all of my P-cores except CPU 8 for now.

Do you use Defender for your anti virus? If so, exclude from scanning Saved Games folder, Eagle Dynamics folder, and anything else used in DCS like Natural Point Track IR(also in app data local programs), SRS folder, etc. Even Defender itself.

Nope, Avast premium, and DCS is bypassed ... thnx

Avast? Still free? Get rid of it in any case.

Might not help, and it might sound strange. For giggles, try to reduce the preload radius down to really low. I have mine at 10. Yes, ten. Not 10K or nothing. My computer is god damn old, and my load times are better. No sssstttuttering to speak of. There are noticeable "load times" during play once in a while. I can cope with those.

I have Avast also and I would like to suggest setting the max performance for DCS:

but it is still the same alas

Does the CPU affinity help? Because we need dcs.exe runs on all P-cores except CPU8....

EDIT: please let me know if I can provide the script to adjust CPU affinity and base priority without running Process Lasso or Device Manager.

I just tested processlasso, rule set and tested. Switches core 8 off nicely, and on again after closing DCS.:

- processlasso rule set for DCS.jpg

PS DCS should fix this or compensate with something useful LoL. processlasso costs 29 $ for 1 PC.

Yep, i think fixed, tip was from support, Alexander ... but if you can make a script it would be great, especially if it works only when DCS is running.

Hi @jackd, apologize to provide the wrong option.

I have discovered the Avast max performance option is to switch a high-performance power plan according to ParkControl power plan notification (Of course, ParkControl can override the current power plan on the fly).

Thanks.

well, i just set it up with process lasso, as above, seems it works nicely with Core 8 off-on and DCS on-off.

some one said it has to do with 12th gen i9 processors only.

Darn ... nice update, compiliments devs.

BUT with DCS 2.9.10.3948 the staggering is still there unless you switch off Core-8 Affinity !!!

Open Windows settings
Select Privacy & Security
Select Windows Security
Open Windows Security
Select Virus & Threat Protection
Under Virus & threat protection settings you have a link: "Manage Settings": open this
Scroll down to Exclusions and click "Add or remove exclusions"

Here you can add exclusions.
For DCS: The folder where DCS is installed and your Saved Games Folder.

Well I did like many do, I put in exclusion in windows defender (Track ir, DCrealistic, DCS, Save game), and I was checked by going to do a simple mission but where I had this problem of freezing the image for several seconds and the damn no improvements so I also put in second try (windows defender) and there the problem is solved?
So putting Windows Defender in exclusion is apparently important!.
NOW there remains a slight jerk when DCS reloads the terrain because I set it to 5000.
For the moment I have found the pleasure of flying again, but how long will this pleasure last?🤨

Alors merci au Forum pour toutes ces indications plus qu utile
