waterman Posted December 6, 2024 Posted December 6, 2024 (edited) Yes it works well ! Hey In the Mission Editor If you use the Multi Select tool and Box select some items including zones then click "Ctrl+c to copy them" Now load a different mission that even uses a different map eg - normandy. Now select the Multi Select Tool and place mouse where you want to paste and click "Ctrl+v" Note if you dont have the Multi Select Tool active then Zones are not pasted ! Copied items from one map to another just like a universal template. Have fun till you trip up on the next NEW BUG ! Edited December 6, 2024 by waterman 2

Great, now we can easily move the templates between maps that way Does the rotation work for you guys? Not for me. Maybe it's only for statics (have not tried these)? Rudel_chw Posted December 6, 2024 Posted December 6, 2024 Hi, I’d love to know how other mission designers are organizing their "templates", for now the best way for me is to have a whole MIZ as a "palette", with one sample of each template, that I can open and then copy from it onto my actual mission, but it is cumbersome, as the Editor can’t hold open two missions at a time. 1 For work: iMac mid-2010 of 27" - Core i7 870 - 6 GB DDR3 1333 MHz - ATI HD5670 - SSD 256 GB - HDD 2 TB - macOS High Sierra For Gaming: 34" Monitor - Ryzen 3600 - 32 GB DDR4 2400 - nVidia RTX2080 - SSD 1.25 TB - HDD 10 TB - Win10 Pro - TM HOTAS Cougar Mobile: iPad Pro 12.9" of 256 GB

That's where the templates win. You have to create them first though, which is easier now for other maps. Then just load the ones you want into the mission you create. Now it's good to have bigger templates as it's easier now to quickly delete the parts you don't want. I understand, I considered that alternative too, but it forces us to have one such template for each Map that we have For work: iMac mid-2010 of 27" - Core i7 870 - 6 GB DDR3 1333 MHz - ATI HD5670 - SSD 256 GB - HDD 2 TB - macOS High Sierra For Gaming: 34" Monitor - Ryzen 3600 - 32 GB DDR4 2400 - nVidia RTX2080 - SSD 1.25 TB - HDD 10 TB - Win10 Pro - TM HOTAS Cougar Mobile: iPad Pro 12.9" of 256 GB

I have done a couple of experiments. 1 - Units in missions already created will not use the new rotate function. 2 - Multi select copy and paste them but they will not rotate. Not a big problem as waypoints and individual vehicle directions need to be tweeked etc. 3 - If you create new units and increase unit count etc they will copy paste and rotate ok. 4 - When you save and reload the mission you cannot use the rotate on them again. 5 - Zones and Statics etc are not affected and rotate ok. That's a real shame, as it limits their usefulness a lot (at least for those of us that intended to create whole libraries of ready to place SAM and AAA units). Hopefully ED developers can fix this limitation. 2 For work: iMac mid-2010 of 27" - Core i7 870 - 6 GB DDR3 1333 MHz - ATI HD5670 - SSD 256 GB - HDD 2 TB - macOS High Sierra For Gaming: 34" Monitor - Ryzen 3600 - 32 GB DDR4 2400 - nVidia RTX2080 - SSD 1.25 TB - HDD 10 TB - Win10 Pro - TM HOTAS Cougar Mobile: iPad Pro 12.9" of 256 GB

waterman Posted December 24, 2024 Posted December 24, 2024 WOW it looks like it has been fixed in the new 24th Dec 2024 Patch ! Awesome Thanks ED ! This will make life a lot easier when mission editing/creating. A lot of users will be very happy now thankyou ! ME. Multi-select tool. impossible to rotate any units when loading into a mission with units already placed, or loading in templates - fixed 2
waterman Posted December 25, 2024 Posted December 25, 2024 Just a quick Heads Up - 1. If you use the multi select tool to select mixed groups and zones on lets say a normandy map. 2. Ctrl c to copy them all. 3. Then Load lets say a Caususus mission. 4. You must select the multi select tool. -- if you dont select it then zones are not included in the paste -- 5. position the mouse where you want to paste them. 6. Ctrl v to paste them. 7. you can now use the multi select and the rotate function. Happy Times ! 1
