YoYo Posted December 12 Posted December 12 Maybe it's the NS430's issue and the lack of an update, or some code is missing from the Iraq map, I don't know if it's a map problem or a GPS problem, but something like this appears when we fly with the NS430: Webmaster of http://www.yoyosims.pl Win 10 64, i9-13900 KF, RTX 4090 24Gb OC, RAM 64Gb Corsair Vengeance LED OC@3600MHz,, 3xSSD+3xSSD M.2 NVMe, Predator XB271HU res.2560x1440 27'' G-sync, Sound Blaster Z + 5.1, TiR5, [MSFS, P3Dv5, DCS, RoF, Condor2, IL-2 CoD/BoX] VR fly only: Meta Quest Pro
ED Team NineLine Posted December 13 ED Team Posted December 13 I just tried entering my own waypoint in the L-39 with the NS430 and it seems to be working. Just tried choosing direct to one of the airfields and it worked fine as well, this is why its also good to include a track on any bug report it might be something with a specific aircraft, or something else, as of right now I cannot reproduce the bug sorry. Looks like you switched to VLOC mode (locilizer mode), not GPS, using CDI key, right? See this: If you start with NS430 (hot), GPS mode is always on first. So you probably changed the mode to another (V-LOC). With GPS, after loading the map and NS430, an error appears: As you can see, this also appears in the L-39 immediately after loading (start in the air) and without touching the NS430, so it's probably not a module issue. Although the map is probably loaded into NS430 because ICAO appears as ORBI and ORAA, so these are airports from the map :). I've checked both modules on Caucasus map now, nothing like "No GPS position" pops up in the same situation. I added the track with Mi-8 + Iraq map. test.trk Webmaster of http://www.yoyosims.pl Win 10 64, i9-13900 KF, RTX 4090 24Gb OC, RAM 64Gb Corsair Vengeance LED OC@3600MHz,, 3xSSD+3xSSD M.2 NVMe, Predator XB271HU res.2560x1440 27'' G-sync, Sound Blaster Z + 5.1, TiR5, [MSFS, P3Dv5, DCS, RoF, Condor2, IL-2 CoD/BoX] VR fly only: Meta Quest Pro
ED Team NineLine Posted December 13 ED Team Posted December 13 Thought I tried both but it was a long day yesterday, will try again. Thanks for the track. 1 Forum Rules • My YouTube • My Discord - NineLine#0440• **How to Report a Bug**
MadKreator Posted December 13 Posted December 13 (edited) I could not get the “standalone” NS-430 to pick up GPS signal on Iraq either. Tried in p-47 and F5-e remaster. ED Team NineLine Posted December 13 ED Team Posted December 13 Just tried again, again setting a custom waypoint and it seemed to work, will try the track now as well. I was using the L-39C for my test. I'll admit I do not use this much so maybe I am not replicating the steps exactly. Will report back after the track. ED Team NineLine Posted December 13 ED Team Posted December 13 Ok, it appears to be related to the country you set it to, if I run the track or open the track in the ME, and then run it, it doesn't work, if I change it to USA it works. Seems like it doesn't like the Red Coalition. If I make a clean mission with changing the coalition members it seems to work fine with red. So something weird going on, but anyway the lesson of the day is always include a track 1 Forum Rules • My YouTube • My Discord - NineLine#0440• **How to Report a Bug**
YoYo Posted December 13 Author Posted December 13 Thank you! It may be, although it's a bit strange that it also depends on the country. I would take Iraq but unfortunately for many modules this country is unavailable (and they had Mi-8) so right, I was using RED coalition forces. MadKreator Posted December 14 Posted December 14 Went for another spin.. P-47, worked fine today, free flight, takeoff and custom mission.. F5-e worked also when doing a free flight, but does not in the “takeoff from runway” mission.. I’m pretty sure I have “unrestricted sat/nav” checked in options, but maybe not… does that affect the NS-430, might make sense if its seemingly coalition based Intel i7 13700k, ASUS rog strix z790A, 64gigs G.Skill Trident DDR5 @6400Mhz, Nvidia RTX 4080FE, 2x 2TB Samsung M.2 NVME, 2x 1TB Samsung SSD, Corsair RM1000x, Corsair Titan 360 X AIO cooler, Lian Li LanCool 2, VKB Gunfighter Ultimate, VKB STECS , MFG Crosswinds, Track IR5, 48” LG UltraGear OLED & HP 24” touchscreen for Helios, Streamdeck XL, DCS-UFC App, Corsair Virtuoso RGB Headphones

Looking at the "options" file inside your "test.trk", unrestrictedSATNAV = false You will need to set unrestrictedSATNAV in DCS > Options > Gameplay to use the NS430 in a REDFOR coalition. Tested using DCS 2.9.10.4160 26 minutes ago, MadKreator said: I’m pretty sure I have “unrestricted sat/nav” checked in options, but maybe not… does that affect the NS-430, might make sense if its seemingly coalition based IIRC it does if the REDFOR coalition doesn't already include a nation (USA, etc. ?) that uses western (NATO ?) GPS. Either way "unrestrictedSATNAV = false" is the reason YoYo's NS430 isn't working in his Mi-8. 1 1 i9 9900K @4.8GHz, 64GB DDR4, RTX4070 12GB, 1+2TB NVMe, 6+4TB HD, 4+1TB SSD, Winwing Orion 2 F-15EX Throttle + F-16EX Stick, TPR Pedals, TIR5, Win 10 Pro x64, 1920X1080
