Same issue.  One time, when I hit autostart a second time after the right engine started, the left engine started.  But after taxing a little while, it stopped.

I'm suspecting the auto start procedure is not fine tuned for cold weather.

That doesnt make any sense if true.   In all my years flying DCS planes with auto-start, never saw or heard of a auto-start procedure being "not being fined tuned for cold weather."

Why would ED allow such a thing?

Hope it can be corrected or changed.  I too lazy to do full start-ups and if auto-start does not work all the time in this campaign, I sadly will have to skip it.😪

There is a problem with auto start. On our local servers some work and some don't allow auto start. As soon as the second starts then it just shutsdown.

Again, the auto start not working has absolutely nothing to do with the campaign. We can run around in circles saying 'but it's only in this campaign' ,which will not lead to any results, or, we can provide ED tracks so they can add it to the bugs list.

Alternatively, what I can think of is a HOTAS switch assignment. It's switched and synchronized into a position that breaks the autostart procedure. It has happened to me before on other modules.

UPDATE: Bignewy just told me they're aware already and working on it. Until then... 🙂

Moral of the story: just because something seemingly only happens in a campaign mission, it doesn't mean the bug is caused by the campaign. Most likely you haven't flown the aircraft before in similar conditions as the mission/ campaign in question. If I could change flight models/ engine modeling in the mission editor, then so could you, and multiplayer servers would be full of cheaters 🙂

Auto start bug in cold weather is reported, it has nothing to do with the campaigns. I have bumped the report internally.

thank you

Here's a track, it took me 1 minute to replicate. Empty Caucasus map, -10 degrees C. none of the engines start. Maybe the crew chief doesn't prime the engines enough for cold weather.

Those lousy crew chiefs! They've been drinking their holiday cheer early this year!

I didnt mean to imply there was a problem with the campaign, I know its ED's fault.  I just found it hard to believe it had anything to do with fictional cold weather.    But what do I know?

Maybe this will get my lazy behind to learn a full start-up procedure.   I did once for the P51 many moons ago.

is there an interim fix to help start the left engine in cold weather but have auto start for the balance?

Just do it manually - in the Mossie it is extremely simple.

In cold weather it takes a longer time to catch, and playing with the throttle a bit helps too. I don’t think oil dilution works.

the fix to this is u can use auto startup, but just hold the left engine starter manually when left engine turning on

works fine w/ auto startup
