Mric29 Posted January 8 Posted January 8 (edited) Hi, I've got visual problem: when Moose CTLD script is active, 3D lights doesn't work (screen 1&2) but without Moose CTLD 3D lights works fine (screen 3) !? Edited January 8 by Mric29
Flappie Posted January 9 Posted January 9 Can you please share your mission file? I'll see if I can reproduce your issue. ---
Mric29 Posted January 12 Author Posted January 12 Hi, mission started at 08:00, problem appeared at 08:40! LastMissionTrack.trk CONQUEST.miz 1 1
Flappie Posted January 12 Posted January 12 Many thanks. I'm able to see a black screen, not exactly what you are seeing, but it's a nice bug, indeed. I'll retry the mission without the CTLD script. 3 ---
Mric29 Posted January 13 Author Posted January 13 (edited) The first time I got this black screen (MSAA filtering), then I switched to FSR and got a 3D black cone! I guess the problem is with CTLD because I haven't had any problems before with MANTIS or Weathermark. Edited January 13 by Mric29 1
Flappie Posted January 14 Posted January 14 (edited) I've just tested your track without the moose and CTLD scripts, and I'm still able to reproduce the issue. EDIT: Issue reported. Do you happen to have a track with the F-16C too? (preferably over Caucasus) Edited January 15 by Flappie ---
Mric29 Posted February 7 Author Posted February 7 Even without scripts, there is still this problem on the Persian Gulf map and still no update either...
Flappie Posted February 7 Posted February 7 Can you please attach a PG track showing the same issue in an ED module? I see the F-16 is also affected. It would help me get attention from devs faster. ---
Mric29 Posted February 7 Author Posted February 7 There is no suspense, all modules are affected! I was approaching in Mirage F1 and I had a black wall in front of my eyes. I turned off my landing lights, the view came back briefly before everything went black again and I crashed my aircraft. LastMissionTrack.trk 1
Flappie Posted February 7 Posted February 7 (edited) EDIT: I thought I had reproduce the issue from the start of the mission in a F-16C, but it seems that once the bug is triggered (when your Mirage is about to land), any PG mission loaded afterwards helps me trigger the bug right away... very strange. Solution Flappie Posted February 7 Solution Posted February 7 @Mric29 I suspect Dynamic weather. It is active in both missions, and you may not know but it is obsolete and should not be used until it is redone. Can you try the same mission with Static weather and tell me if you keep reproducing the issue? 3 ---

Jayhawk1971 Posted February 25 Posted February 25 (edited) I'm not even quite sure where to post this. Since I am using a VR headset, I'll post it here and see where it goes. Yesterday I encountered this visual anomaly when flying Reflected's Zone 5 campaign. While performing the overhead break over Nellis, suddenly this happened. I have played this same mission/ campaign many, many times, with the same setup, without any such issues. I have not touched settings since I had everything dialed in (with my old processor, it's a pain in the butt to make the sim somewhat flyable in VR). It was also visible from the cockpit as a black cone blocking out everything in front of the HUD. I later found out that it went away when switching off the landing light. I also experienced a considerable frame rate drop when over the airfield (the intensity was quite unusual ; sure, there always was some drop in fps around Nellis when populated with AI and static objects, but nothing this severe). My guess is this may be related to my computer running out of "steam"? Unfortunately I forgot to save the trackfile. I'll attach the log though. If anyone has any ideas, I'd appreciate any help. dcs.log Edited February 25 by Jayhawk1971
speed-of-heat Posted February 25 Posted February 25 honestrly no idea, but try clearing out fxo and metashaders2 from the saved games directory for DCS? Also if you have any mods try it without the mods more for a diagnostic baseline 1 SYSTEM SPECS: Hardware AMD 9800X3D, 64Gb RAM, 4090 FE, Virpil T50CM3 Throttle, WinWIng Orion 2 & F-16EX + MFG Crosswinds V2, Varjo Aero SOFTWARE: Microsoft Windows 11, VoiceAttack & VAICOM PRO YOUTUBE CHANNEL: @speed-of-heat

Ensure windows and GPU drivers are up to date Delete metashader2 and fxo folder in saved games DCS folder, then run a single player mission to rebuild shaders ( it will take a little longer then usual ) let us know if it helps 1 Forum rules - DCS Crashing? Jayhawk1971 Posted February 25 Posted February 25 The only non-native DCS add-on (that I am aware of) I run is VAICOM Pro, IDK if that can be considered to be a mod? I usually clear all the mentioned folders after each patch, but I run a full repair and clear out everything and report back. Thanks for the suggestions!

In my case though, it happened only at the end of the mission. When taking off I also had the landing lights on, without seeing this issue. Only when landing (as soon as I lowered the gear after the break) did that glitch occur.

In that other thread, the track allowed me to reproduce the issue but only when I was about to land (I tested the landing light during flight). Both threads will be merged into one. Do you happen to have the track of this issue? Which mission from the campaign was it? Edited February 25 by Flappie 1 ---

I unfortunately forgot to save the trackfile The mission was from Reflected's "Zone 5" campaign, Event 5 ("2 vs Unk with Wildcard"). Either tonight or tomorrow night I'll fly the mission again and save the track should it happen again. Edited February 25 by Jayhawk1971 1
Flappie Posted February 25 Posted February 25 That's a start, thank you. For a moment, I thought the issue was caused by dynamic weather conflicting with fog, but there's only fog in Event 5. It must be fog, since this issue is almost as young as the new DCS fog. 1 ---
Flappie Posted February 25 Posted February 25 I've found another common thing between both mission, Event 5, and CONQUEST from the other thread: in both missions, the fog ends with a thickness of 0 m. And since the issue happens at the end of each mission... I'll make some testing. 1 ---
Flappie Posted February 25 Posted February 25 I'm able to replicate a black veil for a split second. I hope it will be enough for devs to fix this issue. Thank again for identifying the mission, @Jayhawk1971. 2 ---
Jayhawk1971 Posted February 26 Posted February 26 Thanks Flappie for checking this out. Hopefully ED can find a fix. As soon as I am able to refly the mission and in case this happens again, I'll save the track and post it here.
