Hello, i recently installed a 6700XT (coming from a 980) and i have even worse FPS and stuttering then before. My mouse is also lagging when i'm browsing so i think there is someting wrong with my software.

I deleted all Nvidia related things and downloaden Adrenalin including the updates. I had a crash with DCS and i saw that there was an error with Vulkan or DX11. Does anyone know if i have to delete more old Nvidia stuff or update something else?

On the ramp i get around 18 FPS and in the air i get around 55 FPS. I use mostly high settings but i understood the 6700xt should not have problems on 1080p

I'll upload my latest DCS crashlog

Thanks

Download latest DDU. Extract and put in C:\Something Download latest drivers, extract to same folder.
Press LWin+R and type in ms config, press Enter, select the boot tab and check Safe Boot, (so you don't have to mash the F8 key), click yes to reboot and let it boot to Safe Mode. Log in and run DDU, read and select the config choices. OK, select, grahips, Nvidia and choose remove, (if this is not possible, you need to install your old card), let it boot, run DDU again. This time choose AMD, let it boot. Install newest drivers. Don't let it boot. Open MSconfig again. Choose normal boot, OK and let it boot into normal Windows.

I would assume some driver issues. Make sure you properly uninstall all previous drivers (with DDU) and then reinstall the latest drivers for your GPU.

Thanks guys will try. Is Adrenalin a good tool for drivers/updates? Im new to AMD cards

Adrenalin is for AMD as nvidia has the new app. it is used to adjust settings on AMD cards.

Also, make sure you rinse all shader caches (DCS AND Nvidia/AMD/System) after the driver switch.

I used DDU to delete all old drivers and the fps shot up to 50/60 on a busy airfield. The lagging of the mouse was still there but after i deleted Adrenalin the stuttering was gone. So ill try to download a driver only AMD tool and i think the problem will be solved

Thanks for the help!

Little update, i got back to 15pfs and sometimes 9 fps when i'm landing so something is off. Could it be the PSU? I have a 550W psu and its very old. I also see a big drop in GPU Clockspeeds sometimes so i think its the PSU

When i just spawn in i get a solid 50fps and after a few minutes it always drops to around 15-30 and in the air its always between 50-80 fps 😞

well usually the reccomend how much PSU you need, does AMD do that?

You should monitor temperatures maybe thats the problem. Maybe a dumb question but are you sure you have connnected all power cables - for example additional directly to the graphics card?

Yes powercables and everything is new and connected. The temps are also nice around 70 degrees celcius so that is not the problem i think

I think its weird the clockspeeds drop so low sometimes. I think i buy a new PSU because mine is very old and only 550w. I see they recommend a 650w Psu

When I updated to windows 11 it would install their generic amd gpu drivers even thought I downloaded amd's drivers and installed them. Unistall with DDU then reinstall amd's and on the next boot up back to windows drivers. I finally found the setting to keep windows from doing that had to google it. That was a problem that I ran into took a bit to figure out. Win10 did not do that to me.  May not be related to your problem but thought I would post  just in case

for me it worked to disconnect the lan cable - so windows was not able to "autoload" a driver - then used usc stick to install the correct driver

So i installed a 750W PSU yesterday and there was a little improvement. But i still get a lot of FPS drops to 15 fps, and in the air it is a lot better. Did i make a mistake thinking the 6700XT could handle high settings on a 1080P monitor? The performance is about the same as my old 980, the only difference is that the 6700XT doesnt freeze for 25 seconds but instead stays at a steady 15fps...

Also the lagging from the mouse and the lagg when using Adrenaline is driving me mad. Its sometimes hard to click on something because the mouse overshoots🥲

Make sure you dont have any drives for the 980 , that causes issues with the new GPU. I had a 6700xt and had no issues running at 1440 ultrawide

I did the safemode DDU drivers delete 2 times and installed Adrenalin for the amd drivers. I will try that again then

Do you use adrenalin for drivers? I get the feeding that tool is making it all worse

I still havent resolved this problem, my mouse laggs pretty badly and the Fps in DCS multiplayer is way to low for this card.. has anyone an idea what to do next?🥲

Do you have more recent logs than the ones originally posted? The below is based on those logs.

Errors

Memory Timing Issues

Remove any overclocking (XMP) from your RAM.

Config File Corruption

Delete Saved Games\DCS\MissionEditor and try again.

Your System ran out of Memory

Your Preload Radius in DCS is currently set at 133500 which extremely high for your RAM, and you're loading a lot of redundant stuff into RAM. Reduce this to 60000

Your page file is too small. Set the custom page file (one only) with an Initial and Max values of 32768, click Set, Apply, and restart your PC

In Windows:

  • Disable Game Mode
  • Disable Hardware accelerated GPU scheduling (this may also fix the issue with the laggy browsing)

Tuning Advice:

Note that SSAO and SSLR are a performance hit with no real benefit.

  • Turn off SSLR.
  • Enable Full Screen mode.
  • Turn off SSAO.
  • Set Water to Medium or Low.
  • Consider using TAA instead of MSAA.
  • Turn down Anisotropic Filtering.

You also mentioned lagging with the mouse. There had been a preexisting issue, some people have mentioned it still effects them, with this. Using your mouse software drop your polling rate below 1000 (this is polling rate and not DPI). Choose something like 500 and see how you get on.

Thanks for this. I crossed everything off your list and it is a bit better. When i start in the cockpit of the F15E i got around 75 fps and after 15 seconds it drops to 30fps but it stays at 30 now so it is better. Its not perfect yet but im happy the anoyying lagg is mostly gone

The lagg of the mouse is also fixed, i put the wireless usb directly in the motherboard. The USB connectors in the front of the pc are not good so it seems 🙂

Wow.  I'm not sure I've ever seen that many file errors in a log.  Have you ran a slow repair and allowed it to remove extra files?  It sure looks like you have a bunch of leftover mod files or something.

Eventually you get to the C0000005 access error, which might be a different issue, but I'd start with trying to reduce the number of outright errors that are showing up before you go any further.

This one has still come back as a memory timing issue (C00000005 access error I believe is what the log analyzer uses to determine this).

Did you have any existing overclocks, XMP / EXPO profiles on your RAM that you removed? Maybe run a memory test as well to see if that identifies anything, Windows has a tool for that.

Memory Timing Issues

  • Remove any overclocking (XMP) from your RAM.

Further items referenced by the analyzer.

Your DCS has crashed

  • The crash occurred inside ARF.dll.
  • Try a slow repair of the game, select remove other files option as well.
  • Delete Saved Games\DCS\fxo and metashaders2 and try again.
  • Next, delete %LOCALAPPDATA%\TEMP\DCS and try again.
  • Next, try renaming Saved Games\DCS to DCS.old and try again.
  • Thanks 1

I think the solution came from renaming the DCS map and deleting that DCS folder, now i got much better FPS and no more stuttering. The fps is shooting from 60 to 120 and back to 45 every few minutes but i think i have to accept this 🙂

Thank you all for the help!

Not sure if it will help (it does on my system with a Nvidia card) but check your PC advanced power settings and make sure it is set to high performance (if you can on Windows 11) and not balanced or power saver.
