DD_Friar Posted February 6 Posted February 6 Salute, New models for ground troops featured in both the "2024 and Beyond" and "2025 and Beyond" videos. Is there any information available about when these might be released into the sim please? 1 Visit the Dangerdogz at www.dangerdogz.com. We are a group based on having fun (no command structure, no expectations of attendance, no formal skills required, that is not to say we can not get serious for special events, of which we have many). We play DCS and IL2 GBS. We have two groups one based in North America / Canada and one UK / Europe. Come check us out.

DD_Friar Posted February 6 Author Posted February 6 @Rudel_chw No, I wont stop playing DCS, of course not. However I do create a lot of missions with helicopters transporting troops so get down and dirty with them and it would, for example be nice to create missions in Iraq or Afghanistan with troops that look like they should be there. 1 Visit the Dangerdogz at www.dangerdogz.com. Rudel_chw Posted February 6 Posted February 6 I try not to think about DCS elements that are not yet here, I’ve found it isn’t productive, so I’d rather focus on the elements we already have, to create my missions, plus I also like to try and test User Mods that provide additional elements, like those of @currenthill @Eight Ball and @Massun92 (plus so many others, the list is too long to mention here) 1 For work: iMac mid-2010 of 27" - Core i7 870 - 6 GB DDR3 1333 MHz - ATI HD5670 - SSD 256 GB - HDD 2 TB - macOS High Sierra For Gaming: 34" Monitor - Ryzen 3600 - 32 GB DDR4 2400 - nVidia RTX2080 - SSD 1.25 TB - HDD 10 TB - Win10 Pro - TM HOTAS Cougar Mobile: iPad Pro 12.9" of 256 GB
DD_Friar Posted February 6 Author Posted February 6 I prefer not to use mods as I build missions for my squad (multiplayer) and it is a pain to get everyone to install them. 2 Visit the Dangerdogz at www.dangerdogz.com. Melv428 Posted February 6 Posted February 6 There is no substitute for ground troops except for more ground troops. It is better to have than to need.

I actually tried MP for over a year, with a spanish-speaking Squadron, and for me boring was: having to wait for that last chap to arrive to the Briefing and while waiting, having to endure the bad jokes, rude comments, and juvenile lingo over the intercom and once the mission did start, enduring the interminable questions of those that didn't fully knew their aircraft and of course witnessing the ones that abandoned the mission mid course so it wasn't uncommon that a 2 hour mission evolved into a 3 hours plus affair, where no one had any time for a proper return to base or debriefing. So, finally able to fly by myself isn't really boring to me, its truly enjoyable Edited February 6 by Rudel_chw 3 For work: iMac mid-2010 of 27" - Core i7 870 - 6 GB DDR3 1333 MHz - ATI HD5670 - SSD 256 GB - HDD 2 TB - macOS High Sierra For Gaming: 34" Monitor - Ryzen 3600 - 32 GB DDR4 2400 - nVidia RTX2080 - SSD 1.25 TB - HDD 10 TB - Win10 Pro - TM HOTAS Cougar Mobile: iPad Pro 12.9" of 256 GB

So, finally able to fly by myself isn't really boring to me, its truly enjoyable I enjoy SP, but in fairness your MP experience sounds like you needed to find a different group. If you get a good one people show up on time, are mature, and no-one abandons the mission mid-course barring hardware issues, or there is very rarely not enough for a proper RTB. Not having time for RTB is poor planning -- either late takeoffs or mission isn't designed well to allow for enough time.
